My favourite part about this phone is its advertising of its camera, "It isn't good, but it works", which perfectly suits my use case as I don't take photos that much

they even joked that you can take some photos when needed and read QR codes.

I'll take this over 1500$ uber expensive daps that are equipped with chipset and android OS from 8 years ago.

LG does this before. RIP LG. I'm using LG G8 as my media/secondary.

Thinking hard about this too. Wondering whether I should go for this instead of a traditional DAP 😮

so its set and done. The battle between phone and dap back then now had an answer, the phone win.

the idea is not bad but its not a phone, its a dap, if you think of it as a dap it is very feature rich and its probably decent one although not cheap at all. to make it a phone they would need to promise system and security updates, water resistance and good cameras. also moondrop has QC issues recently so i would wait it out, especially the first version. I would just prefer to continue using my old phone that has a headphone jack and takes good pictures...

Not related at all, but are you reviewing the moondrop evo anytime soon?

I already have a dongle with the same dual chipset and a good smartphone....so this product isn't for me but I could see someone picking it up for a cheap new phone if they don't really do any gaming but listen to tons of music

im currently looking for a dap and 1:38 uhhh😅, can you name the brand/brands you meant so I don't make a stupid purchasing decision? ngl I don't really mind the sound quality since I genuinely can't hear much differences between them when I'm outside I'm just worried about the "laggy player" part

Not gonna lie, now I only have access to Onkyo DP-X1A and Sony Zx707, the prior one is extremely laggy, the later one, albeit being a modern player, is still not as responsive as a mid-range phone. Although both do sound great, I'd say just go for a good little dongle like Dawn Pro, and save the money either for more iems/headphones/full sized desktop solution. At least that's how I'd spend my money Zzz

@@catadegen Well I wanted a DAP for storing and playing my music library without draining my battery (since my phone's battery health is complete ass) but I think I'd rather buy the moondrop phone or a new phone and a dongle. Recently purchased a FiiO K11 and I really love how my planar set sound through them, I'd like to hear that sound on the go! I've been trying out some dongles from my local audio store and I might pick one up if I can't get my hands on the miad 01.
