The level of Carol's play this year at VNL and World Championships has been astonishing. Those kill blocks are so satisfying.

Really nice that you mentioned Lorenne (Brazil's opposite hitter)! She has been on the bench for our Brazilian national team for a while now but was never able to secure a starter spot. She usually comes in a pinch server. Last season she played in Japan so our coach decided that she would be great to sub in on this match since she plays against these Japanese players on a club level, and what a great decision that was! She did an amazing job this match. I'm also touched that you acknowledge the libero, Nyeme. She has a sad history in volleyball: she was ready to quit playing altogether, and then she was rediscovered, reintroduced to the Brazilian scenario, for the first time got a chance at the national team and now she's doing amazing at international competitions. Your work as a libero is iconic Erik, and I'm sure she would be incredibly happy to see you praising her form and her aggressive sets. Much love from Brazil to you!!

That was (22) Fukudome’s first ever international major tournament. Japan’s floor defense system is out of this world even way back their glory days. Must say, that’s some fine volleyball pedigree.

This video had the exact kind of picking apart and analyzing of a game that i’ve been looking for! Recently i’ve been trying to notice plays and understand the strategies used in the games I watch, and watching your reaction videos helps me learn how to do that better! i follow more women's vb than men's and it's just now that i realized how speed can be a double edged sword. coming from southeast asia where thailand is the standard, i've always thought teams with slower tempos were kind of boring. this was really insightful!

Thank you! Yes speed is great but is something is off it can really throw off the offense. That’s why when teams are on with speed they are hard to beat.

The only non insane game brazil had was the finals... as a italian it hurts cause they won twice against us... they were so consistent until the finals...

Japan volleyball team may not be the tallest and best volleyball team out there but they are the most defense specialist and great system within the court. Defense is the best offense.

Last season was so much success for Zaksa that it's probably the first video where Erik says that Zaksa lost 😁 dishwashing machine confused me at first, thought it's something in my house haha

Please react to paralympic volleyball, it is incredible to seem them play at their different strategies compared to normal volleyball.

I feel like volleyball is one of the only team sports where women aren't super underrepresented I'm very happy about this video.

they actually, at some point, have more viewership. some of the top pro female players gets paid more than their male counterparts.

Im not erik, but if the serve comes too strong to take with your hands, too fast to take a step back and bump it, and its too high to take it without a step, and only if you REALLY can't do these, then open out to the side, shoulders towards the net still, lift your arms a bit more and take it with a bump set.
