Dear Gary Please can you make a History of Football series talking about individual players who made great sacrifices during WWI & WWII . There's just not many comprehensive (Attenborough style) documentary series talking about the Players, even the BBC hasn't got one. Players like Walter Tull have such fascinating stories i'm sure people would watch it... I hope you read this and really consider this. & Happy New Year !!!
Micah's face immediately Onana's name comes up is priceless 😂
I’m really enjoying this podcast. To have a blend of two great players and Micah ( who is refreshingly honest about his career but does take his job seriously) is really working. Alan is old school and is brutal honest about the current issues surrounding VAR , Handball etc and it’s balanced by Gary’s thoughtful approach. There is something for all ages in this podcast.

this podcast is genuinely amazing. i’ve just discovered it recently but i’ve had different episodes playing absolutely nonstop for the past week.
Totally with Micah, the best thing is the food. I don't mind presents for the kids, but for adults, no chance. On birthdays I'll make a special personalised effort though.

I feel like Liverpool have been severely overlooked this season They would have not been beaten yet if it wasn’t for the red card game against Tottenham and them scoring a last minute goal They have the best defensive record in the league Their strikers are also inconsistent yet they’re top of the table It’s a long way and anything can happen, but they’re definitely gotta be up there

We've been underrated since before the season started, people thought we'd struggle for top4, being an underdog is where we thrive though
12:53 mudryk's price seems to go up every time it's mentioned. actual price is around 62m, with add-ons it's 89m, and now somehow it's become 100m. gonna hear 120m shouts next also that madueke penalty was stonewall, eze kicked madueke and his leg visibly snapped back. if that's "contentious" then i shudder to think what might not be. gary's inner spud coming out perhaps

What a bloody great podcast this is. Informative, entertaining and educational. Bit like the BBC with less restrictions 😂 Spot on ✌🏽👊🏽
How do we remove subjectivity from the handball law. "Make it deliberate." 🤦 Yeah thanks Alan. The real fair answer is to judge if it prevented a goal scoring opportunity. Disregard the defenders intention, it is irrelevant.

Great that G LIniker remembererd that situ with Jimmy Hill, as I have a slight recollection of it myself, and have never heard it mentioned before. I do feel though that Gary underestimates how long ago it was, as I think it might have been as far back as the 80s, or at least early 90s when that situ occured. If I recall, he upset the girl and later appologised about it?
One of the best things was seeing great films on Tv . That novelty is never coming back.

Love the podcast guys. Question for everyone- Is there a remote chance of the USA/Canada being able to compete with European football, for as long as they call it soccer?
@benjamincompton9767
5 ай бұрын
Do you mean the national teams? Here's the thing, all of the best athletes go into other sports. If you get to the point where people want to play football as much as the gridiron, basketball and hockey then absolutely. The talent pool in USA particularly is absolutely huge. But Canadian kids want to play hockey, and Americans want to play their football 🏈. I mean, "soccer" wise, look at what happened when the girls started funnelling into it, they became the best in the world. Having said that, can I see enough of the most athletic kids going into soccer? No.

Micah knows a thing or two about bursting so I'll take his word for it.
Hope yous had a great Christmas lads and have a good new year!
What ever happened to just deliberate handball? Moving the hand towards the ball.
There is clause for a free kick inside the box I believe. Why can't that be used when a hand ball in the box is not a clear and obvious interference from the defender?
I only had 5 pigs in blankets can you believe it 😂😂😂
Micah has such great energy, He never fails to make me smile ,
For Man United, I think they need a more consistent right-back. I don't think Dalot or Wan-Bissaka do the job. I would go for Lutsharel Geertruida from Feyenoord.
If you had to be a rocket scientist to talk about the tactics of football, Shaka Hislop would be the only pundit
Lads, watching the Arsenal game last night is there any reason why the chip in the ball only covers the goal line after West Ham’s 1st goal why it doesn’t covers the by line as well,as crap as we were and full credit to West Ham,we were on the wrong of a poor decision again, with all the cameras they they don’t have one on the by line that’s twice now 🙈

Handball whether in a natural position or not its still handball thats how it should be because like you guys say its getting too complicated for the referee so going forward if the ball hits the hand or arm then Handball irispective of the arms position. When Liverpool played Asrenal it was a clear and obvious Handball, we as tv veiwers know it is a handball and so does everyone in the stands but the ref, or VAR >>>> They need to get ther s**t together for the rest of the season . It's harder for the referees because they have no excuse for making wrong decisions now with the technology, but Alan here wants us to go back to the days where ghost goals were given and refs would make a terrible decision and get away with it because "they're humans"

Christmas makes all toilets in Great Britain on Boxing Day no go zones . You literally need a blow torch to cut through the stench in some of these places so yeah not for me . It’s like some people have been watching too much Dynamo and turn into a wilder-beast once the toilet door closes . I stopped at a Bp garage on the way to family on Boxing Day and took one step in the disabled as something had already rendered the ladies out of order and I tell you I wasn’t prepared for the “scent” I was greeted by . Keep it ,you end up skint and unable to use one of your senses properly .
