When I was 9 years old, I saw Miss Ross in Central Park live on cable tv. I was convinced she was a goddess. The way she embraced the rain, finessed the wind and mesmerized the audience. I was captivated.

She always knows how to make a grand entrance.

Oh Yeeessssss, Philippi another one of my favorite concerts. I love the fur coat and you wear it well, when you mention you're taking your coat off cuz it's heavy, that's what Diana Ross said in her 1979 concert in Las Vegas when she also wore a fabulous white fur coat and she said (Let's hear for the coat, come on my designers would just die if you didn't recognize this coat and this this mothea's heeeeeeaaaaavvvyyyy wo alright thank you Andrew, Andrew, just drag it on out of here Andrew check it don't wear it.) The Las Vegas concert is very special to me because it's the very first concert I seen of Diana Ross when I was 13 I know this concert word for word lyrics to lyric breathe to breathe, I love every song from this concert My favorite songs from this concert is I AIN'T BEEN LICKED/HOME/and DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING TO. It would be a blessing to me if you would talk about the 1979 concert in Las Vegas.❤🙏🎚️✌️😘thank you so much.

I love each one of your videos, and I learned something new each time particularly about her clothes. But I never saw that guy dancing in front of her until you said that I always think about the man who rammed her hand when she first came out into the audience

Something had changed in her at this moment in her life. She had always been a fearless live performer but here, in 1981, we see a new kind of confidence, maturity and take-charge stage presence that wasn’t quite there in her past TV specials. I assume it was due to two things: (1) the mega success of her 1980 album, which had put her back on top of the charts for the first time in years; and (2) her negotiations with RCA and the knowledge that she would soon be leaving Motown and taking greater control of her career. It was the start of a new decade, a new recording contract and a new updated look that she would tweak and refine throughout the rest of the 80s. The iconic image we have today of Diana Ross - “the diva” - really began with this TV special. It was the moment she went from star, to superstar, and one of the world’s most in-demand concert performers.

I was lucky enough to see her in ‘the round’ several times in the UK . This TV special still gives me goosebumps💎..the magic that is her 🖤is unsurpassed on so many levels . Thank you Philippe

I remember that footage of an overzealous fan (I think it was in Paris) who grabbed her and tried to kiss her and she bit him! Diana Ross does not play!

It was in Paris, and he was violent. What a creep.He used to brag about that moment all the time. He passed away a few years ago. RIP

The best concert opening EVER was from her Las Vegas show at Caesar's Palace in 1979. It was incredible and you can watch it on You Tube.
