I HATE THOSE! When I had to read a book in school we usually had to explain the title (and cover art) and it was very frustrating to get to the end of the book not knowing why they chose that title and cover for the book.

Even when the author mentions the book title in a page or a paragraph is kinda satisfying in a weird way!

I love the "You have too many books" one, because I constantly have to listen to part of my family (especially my grandmother) going on and on about how I have too many whenever the topic "books" only mildly comes up, and how I will end up throwing them all in the trash one day, making me unnecessarily sad about my passion every single time. (I tend to not bring up books at all anymore when we talk)

Totally understand the concept of being the only person to say “I’m going to the bookshop!” I’m the only one that would say that as well! And I happily spend hours browsing as well…books are my happy place!

speaking of the book hangover thing. when i was like 17 my mom found me crying in the bathroom and she got really concerned of course. even though i insisted it was nothing, she demanded that i tell her. reluctantly, and embarrassingly, i admitted it was because of the book i had just finished. we had a good laugh about it and then she hugged me for comfort. that book was the fault in our stars. 😂

"SYMPTOMS OF A BOOK HANGOVER" *raises hand* Oh, that's happened to me. A couple years ago, the finale to a series that was a top fav (because it was hilarious and made me laugh so sincerely) ended with a tragic twist so unexpected that I literally burst out into tears. I was so devastated and disoriented that I made the mistake of going to my husband for some consoling and he thought one of the cats had died, I was crying so bad. The WTF look on his face when I told him it was from a book... I'm still mortified to this day.

I work for a library, and I’m part of a reader’s advisory team where I recommend books, and I totally understood when you said you have to know a person’s favorite genres, tropes, etc. Luckily, our patrons fill out a form telling us all that info, and then I spend hours coming up with at least six book recommendations to email them.

I saw a meme once about how people assume that you can be interrupted while you are OBVIOUSLY reading a book , like are they trying to get me mad or what 😑.But Jesse's bookshelf is ✨DIVINE✨

I love the bookmark one! I own so many cool bookmarks, but sometimes I don't have any on me when I need one. I used my vaccination card the one day without thinking about it, I then forgot it was in there. When I went for my second shot the nurse scolded me for not keeping the card on my person. Whoops!

As a writer: no I will not give up murder or give happiness. It gives me serotonin to watch you suffer. 😈

I recently finished reading a book that I loved so much I was like "I must get someone else to read this book!" (I think I experienced my first book hangover actually, had a hard time picking something else up for a week because I couldn't stop thinking about it). I sent a message to my group of friends saying "Yo! Somebody! Read this!" Fully expecting none of them to read it, but then one them started sending me his live reactions of the book as he read it, I was so dang happy!!! After a first Book Hangover and successful Book Rec, I think I've officially become a Book Person :) (the book was House in the Cerulean Sea, btw)

I'm loving the idea of doing the SpongeBob rainbow motion whenever someone says that to me 😆

I related so much to everything you said at 7:53 I was on the bus balling my eyes out and some girl is like, "why are you crying, are you okay?" and I just cry harder and hold up the book so she can read the cover, it was They Both Die at the End btw, and she just goes "oh... oh okay...?" and I was so embarrassed lol I dont think she expected it to be the book lol

As a reader and a writer, I will have to say that I don't see an end to planning the death of a character 5 books into a series I have yet to finish writing the first book to. I am in a constant battle of author v writer, which goes as "that character shouldn't have died. He doesn't deserve that pain," (reader side of me) and "that character has to die and needs to be in pain, even if I made myself and any potentials reader fall in love with him and I am yet to see any importance of it other than making readers sad," (writer side of me).

I recommend"Summer Bird Blue" it's not directly about ptsd, I think, but the mc does deal with a lot of grieve and emotional turmoil. Maybe just read the synopsis and decide for yourself. It's a great book.

Jesse: "At least when you get mad at it, you can set it aside for a bit and come back to it later." Me, who has been in revolt about finishing one book I started 6+ years ago because I was frustrated at a decision one of the main characters made: "A bit" might be a small understatement for me. I do want to finish the book. What I had read so far was very good, but every time I go to pick it back up to finish it I see the cover and get mad all over again and want to strangle the main character, so it goes back on the shelf.

Audiobooks are great for cleaning and chores. I do that too 😋.

I don't think glow in the dark text in a book would work. It needs light before it can glow and then you'd have to have all of the pages open so light could get at it.
