As you are finding out, all of us Pentaholics just love it when a reactor discovers them. So cool to watch someone else go through what we did. A little background on the group: Mitch, Scott and Kirstie grew up together and were all musical. Scott and Mitch were appearing together in musical productions at age 8 and they were all very heavily involved with singing in high school. Scott and Kirstie were both studying music at different universities before Pentatonix was formed to compete on a television show called The Sing Off which was a competition between a capella groups They found Avi through a mutual friend and Kevin from KZread videos of him combining cello with beat boxing. Avi was an opera major in College and plays piano and guitar. He was also involved with a capella groups prior to joining Pentatonix. Kevin is very multi-talented. Started with the piano at age 4, with the cello at age 6 or 8 (I can't remember which for sure) and Saxaphone at age 10. The beat boxing was a hobby he picked up in high school. He graduated Pre-Med from Yale (he was also accepted at Princeton, Stanford and Brown Universities). He has given several performances at Carnegie Hall and he spent a year and a half in China and speaks flawless Mandarin. So anyway, is it any wonder that they are such a great group?

All true and part of the reason PTX does wonderful arrangements. They are perfectionists and hold themselves to a very high standard. If you want to crawl before you run start with the sing off, they did ;-). J

Hello Nat. Thank you for such a great reaction. Love the glasses. They really make your eyes pop! This video was done in their apartment in a closet and kitchen for $400.00. They won their first Grammy for this. Kevin's eyes couldn't handle the contacts, so they gave him some cool sunglasses to wear. Great reaction Natalie! You have so may more amazing moments yet to come. Just so you know, they won a Grammy for this song/video. (Not Bad, LOL) They shot it in a closet, recorded it in a kitchen, yes it's just them even though you will swear they are cheating, and they did it all for $400.00 US. I think that speaks to their amazing talent. I promise you will never miss the instruments, but you will see Kevin, the beat-boxer, play the cello in a few songs. Oh and also you may have some side effects of being a new Pentaholic. Namely: Often referring to each member as your favorite at different times, saying things like "This is my favorite PTX song (every time you hear a new one) and always being surprised just when you think you know what to expect. Great reaction! I think it's the first time Avi's really low voice all by itself (rather than singing in his upper range, or doing the bass as part of the group). I'd also recommend the 'Sing Off' videos, it shows their beginnings, with cute choreo and color coordinated outfits. Amazing considering they really only got all together shortly before the show began.

Spectacular spectacles! If you like Pentatonix, you'll like Home Free as well! They both won their season of the American game show "The Sing Off". Have a glorious weekend!

@@IAmYou_N Hey, I have had glasses my ENTIRE LIFE, ever since my head was finally large enough to hold the smallest frames available at the time. I HATE that I MUST have them! I hate the way they look on me, I have always hated them so much! But you... You look very pleasant with them. I like the way you look both with and without. If you MUST wear them, please have no fear about your appearance when you do; you are positively ADORABLE either way. I suppose it's all in the way one picks the frames for the shape of the face. Yours are perfect, don't worry about it. Now, IF I HAD some advice to give about how to handle the weight on the nose, I most certainly would give it. I do not have any good ideas about how to handle it at all, which is just ONE MORE reason I have always hated them. I just had to tough it out. I am sorry I could not be any more helpful in the matter. :P

I love when people react to hallelujah and get emotional. I can't explain it but it made me emotional the first few times I heard it. It didn't like make me sad or anything in particular but it just made me emotional. Weird and hard to explain

Please consider reacting to Home Free. Should start with Country Fried Pop, or My Church. They also have others like Blue ain't your color and In the blood. Their Mayday video is great but should not be the first video you watch. One needs to hear the bass Tim Foust sing other songs to appreciate his range. Maybe Home Free - Ring of Fire Avi Kaplan (PTX bass) joins them in that video.

Having seen the original of these songs, I have to say I like this mashup better. Don't know if you noticed, but there were a couple of points where Avi was singing 2 notes at the same time. I've heard him do this in other performances and I have to say, that is not something I could do.
