Unrelated. I began rereading The Motivation Manifesto today after 3 years.. I love that book. Even how it looks, the black hard cover and golden writing. Love it.

oooh, I think I'm emotionally unstable, and I'm 49 Brendon. I mean, when I meditate, my day is SO different, I SEE the power in it, it calms my mind and yet I don't DO IT EVERY DAY!! why would I not do it? My thing is, I have a mom in her 70s, and a younger brother that she takes care of, he's 29 and has epilepsy. My mom is divorced and her and my dad are not amicable at all --> lame. No one in my family seems to help her but me. Then there is me, I am committed to helping them, because I love them AND it makes me feel good to help them BUT I don't live where she does, and there are so many things to manage, I'm single, only have one income and I feel pressured to find solutions NOW because she's 74! That anxiety wakes me up at night, I don't want to fall short, AND ...I do have a therapist. I think it's like what you said, I have to fight to get the right state of mind. I just need to do it, whatever it takes...no excuses. I have let my self down so many times, that I guess I really keep sending that message that I don't have a handle on my life. You said "You might have to do all these things that are so hard at first..." I guess there is this really dark part of my mind that keeps saying "but if you haven't figured it out by 49, c'mon...do you think you're really going to turn it all around now?" That thought brings tears to my eyes. But I can't let that thought win. I won't. I'm going to take control. And that is a thought that I will not accept. Let me get to it. Thanks for listening. I'm going to meditate and then head outside for a bit. I will put my head on straight now.

Hi Brooklyn, I hope you realise that you're so strong for being there for your family. I've had to do the same for years and felt resentful, but now that I've incrementally gone to a better place, I am actually SO proud of myself for putting my family first. I wish I had also given myself a lot of love, compassion, patience and sprinkles of joy through the never-ending endurance period, but alas, it was my destiny and it has taught me endless lessons and I'm grateful to have gone through it. Sending you lots of love!!!

Confidence can come from a variety of sources and experiences, and it can also be influenced by personal characteristics and mindset. Having an overabundance of something, such as resources or knowledge, can certainly be a helpful foundation for building confidence. However, it is important to recognize that confidence is not solely based on external factors and can be developed through practice, self-reflection, and a positive attitude. It is important to maintain a healthy balance and to continue learning and growing, rather than relying solely on external factors to build confidence.
