Never forgot when I discovered I could take a bath in towns. I went, got nice and clean, and went to camp right away to see if anyone would say anything about it. This was at Clemens point and we had just moved into camp a mission or two ago so I wasn’t used to everything. Right as I was coming in from the beach, I took a jump weird on my horse and we both crashed, and my ass fell headfirst in some mud. As soon as I walked into camp, everyone started complaining about how filthy I looked LOL

Grimshaw once told me I needed to take a bath after I had just taken one in Valentine just because I was missing from camp from a long time so I guess she just assumed I was filthy. Lol. It was a different cutscene than this and Arthur was like "I'm busy go away!" and she slapped him and told him it was her camp and her rule and forced him to wash again lol.

Lol a similar thing happened to me but it was just before the fight with Tommy in Valentine. I totally forgot about it from my 1st play through so yeah, I wasted time and money on the bath when Arthur was just going to end up in the mud during the fight anyways!

Almost four years later, and STILL RDR2 surprises me. Absolute masterpiece 🤟✌

It's incredible because the game actually hints that you can go into the water to wash yourself, plus the people around you are ALWAYS letting you know how dirty you are, so it makes you change your damn clothes eventually. The fact that they added this is such a detail that's two steps ahead of the player.

This ain't even the first game to essentially bully you into getting new clothes: pedestrians in GTA: San Andreas would often mock you for wearing cheaper clothing (although their comments regarding your appearance, from haircut to clothing, were mostly tied to your in-game "Sex Appeal"-stat instead of how often you changed), and NPC's in Saints Row 2 would comment on an unpleasant odor emmiting from you if you didn't change your outfit regularly.

The thing is arthur cannot take a bath in the camp except for this cutscene

It was probably my fifth or sixth playthrough when I first noticed this. This was back when everyone at camp would comment on how Arthur should dress warmer bug was a thing, and I first realized that npcs would comment on Arthur’s state of cleanliness.

Taking a bath in-game is not only beneficial to your Stamina levels (and might be to your Health levels), but since it requires very little actual playing I often use Arthur's bathtime to have a quick snack, check my phone or get lit up, and it amuses me greatly that both player and player character have a little break at the same time without pausing the game

This game is amazing. It still blows my mind.

As someone who didn't bathe as Arthur, because I didn't know, I never encountered this cutscene, ever.

At least it's not Kingdom Come Deliverance. You gotta bathe at least twice a day

I have so much time in this game, but I stopped playing like a year or so ago because it got kinda boring, but I'm always amazed at how pretty dynamic and immersive the world can be with things I've never seen before. Every time I see a video like this, I feel like downloading again and playing, might do it soon.

Dude Mrs. Grimshaw is like the grandma of the gang, ya know like that young grandma in the family that makes ya do things yet helps you out a lot, and jokes with you to make things fun.

The little details and hidden dialogs is why this game is still the best 2 years later

I took a bath in Valentine and returned to camp. Did not matter - the writers and programmers were not intelligent enough to recognize that for the game.

I’ve seen a different version of this interaction (when she slaps Arthur) but never this specific one. It’s crazy how I keep finding out about new stuff in the game I haven’t discovered yet despite 100%ing the game years ago 😂
