FPV works you just need to get used to it. Also shaking can be prevented. Analogue FPV provides virtually no latency and with a nice wide lens CCD camera you can drive these beasts

I feel like this racing would be more fun if the cars were slower.

And in the car park nearby, all their Honda Accord/civic and Toyota Prius are badly parked and they will probably cut ur lane without indicating.

Approximately $4500 for car, electronics, spare parts, fuel. This is to be competitive as you asked. You can also get enough to practice and enjoy the cars first for about $1000. As with anything I would suggest spending little money and learning that you like it before going big.

A competitive car costs 3.000 Euro. But keep in mind that these cars are no RTR-cars.

One would have thought the F1 cars to be much faster than the Touring Cars, but not so.
