Razor Shift Skate Review - DO YOU REALLY NOT NEED BOLTS?

Спорт

A late review on the new Razor Shift Inline Skate, focusing on the no soul plate bolt set up and whether it works or worked for me.
The Razor Shift skate cost me around $600nzd including postage. The biggest feature of these new skates is the new Instant Frame Change system. The base is a two-part system, the soul and the slider. By pressing the two IFC buttons, you can remove the slider and then the soul plate, changing frames in minutes.
Do you really not need bolts with these?

    For those watching in 2022, Lawrence at 50/50 has designed frames where the wheels don't block the UFS bolts. Just two bolts to go from aggressive Balance frames to freeskate Compass 80s.

    Mine were very very difficult to get on, almost as if the souls were warped slightly which was frustrating

    In new Shifts 2 this cloth is now glued to the bottom of the boot so problem is fixed. Same experience no matter which setup you skate. Reign liner is amazing and overall feel of the skate is awesome...

    same problem keeps happening to me on my soul foot, unclicking in the back. I have cosmo razors with kaltik v2 frames and the cosmo skates did not come with the bolts to fix this problem. So far I just kick the soul back into place, until I can get some bolts to fix it. bummer.

    I popped the soul off several times when using my grinder blade set up and use the screws religiously. But when I'm just cruising with my big wheel setup, I go without the screws.

    the only thing i hate about the shifts is the constant squeaking from the cuffs. they squeak and creak no matter how much you break them in. its really annoying. other than that, great skate. love the ability to switch frame setups. i don't use screws but i dont grind much so i'm good.

  • @BrandonDrummond

    Cheers for watching. You can fix that squeak if you wax the inside of your cuff. Really coat it everywhere it touches plastic on plastic. I was a game changer for me, even on my Them 909s.

    Hi can you help answer a question. I was debating getting a pair of UFS inlines for the reason of changing frames. But can you change simply the hblock? If not what skate can

  • @BrandonDrummond

    @BrandonDrummond

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey. Very few frames let you change the H-Block. Getting a UFS frame to swop between aggressive skating and rec skating is a much better option. I'd recommend doing that instead.
