    I modded my e300 and I am happy to say it’s waaaaay better! It climbs hills like a champ now! I stuck a e bike 1500w controller in the old battery bin under the deck. There was not any room in there for anything else once you add all those wires too. So I bought one of those 3litre carbon fibre looking scooter bags that go on the handle bars to hold my batteries. I have a bunch of 5s lipos 10,000Mah and 5000mah that I run as 10s and two greenwork 40v packs. Any of these packs run the scooter and fit in the bag. Lipos are the best punch though. I decided to cut that brace off the back of the frame. I always hated the way the deck went over the rear tire. It also allowed a cleaner install of the zoom cable activated Hydraulic disk brake and 120mm disk. I made a wooden deck to replace the stock one. I also made a custom motor bracket out of angled metal to hold my 6384 e skate bl motor. This motor is much smaller than the stock one but way more powerful . It’s rated for 4000w but is only capable of 45kph before it smokes according to the specs. It needs a proper hall sensor connection to run properly with the controller. I tried all 36 possible combinations and found the best one. I put some Xiaomi fenders on and it’s looking pretty good I I am getting 40kph right now. It wheelies on start ups. So I could gear up the pinion and gain more speed. The controller has a handle bar mounted display that allows programming features which is a nice touch. It shows all kinds of info. It also allows you to turn on lights change speed settings on the fly and use a motor assist push feature. The current draw feature was helpful in finding the best hall sensor combination. The frame mods I made give the scooter a great look. And I painted it with some 350z metallic grey paint I had made to touch up my car. I said I wasn’t going to bother modding it. But I am glad it did. It cost lots of time and around 400 bucks to do. The scooter was bought for a $75 bottle of tequila. Would of been more if I already did not have batteries. Thanks for saving me the trouble of trying your mods first. That looked disappointing.

    Hi Jay, Thanks for watching and commenting. Your scooter sounds awesome! These are fun scooters to modify. I've changed the configuration a few times but didn't keep up with making videos about it. Now it has a 36v controller and is powered by three 36v 4.4ah hoverboard batteries. Everything fits in the deck. It will do 20 mph and I goes about 10 miles distance. I think I'm done modding it. I bought an EMove Cruiser with 52v 30ah battery that will do 25 mph and will go 50 MILES on a charge. It's a big, heavy scooter but it's the most fun toy I have ever bought! :) Have fun and ride safe my friend! -Duane

    Hi Felix, Good choice. These are solid scooters that are easy to work on. To answer your question, yes, you could do that. The only drawback I see is that it's going to be heavy. But it would almost double your ride time so it's a good idea.

  • @ArmsLovers

    @ArmsLovers

    Felix, I came with somewhat different concept. I have upgraded the scooter for my child by removing and trashing original batteries, in other words, I have very much followed the instructions from this video. My scooter has a sit (model e300s). I have purchased a spare battery, and attached to the back of the sit. The batteries are swappable, when primary runs out of power, I just swap it with the spare one. This way I have doubled the milage, ... but at the cost, since batteries are not cheap.

    Are the new batterys rechargeable ? What is the name of the new batterys you chose ? Can you post a picture of how you have the new batterys on the scooter so i can see it thank you

  • @ArmsLovers

    @ArmsLovers

    5 жыл бұрын

    Felix Mcturk, yes, batteries are rechargeable, charging time about 3 hours. You can find exact models and links to eBay store in description of this video. In relation to me posting pictures - I can make a video on my KZread channel, but I do not think I can expose anything new. I just followed instructions from this video. I want to mention, if you are planning to use a sit, then you need to buy a scooter with the sit (model e300s), since regular one (model e300) does not have a sit. So, if you have a sit, then you can hook the spare battery to it, otherwise you have no spots on the scooter to attach spare battery (other than carting spare battery in your backpack). Finally, if you are upgrading scooter for the child, then you are fine, you only need to replace controller, throttle and battery. However for the adult you may consider also replacing the motor. You can buy the updated motor from the same maker who makes controllers (check links in the description), and you should get the throttle with digital screen that displays remaining voltage. Good luck!

    Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I switched to a 24v lithium battery because it's lighter and will last for about 5 years with regular use. The 12 volt lead acid batteries are heavier and will only last about a year (maybe 2 years if you're lucky). It would actually be smarter to wait till the old batteries need replaced before you switch to lithium.

    I have this scooter is it difficult to replace battery. How many extra miles can you get using lithium battery?thanks

  • @XDM50

    @XDM50

    2 жыл бұрын

    The key to distance is AH or Amp Hours. The E300 comes with 7 or 8 AH lead acid batteries. If you replace them with 7 or 8 AH Lithium your distance will stay the same. If you are not too heavy you should get about 1 mile per AH. If you want more distance you need more AH. The most popular way to do this is to convert the scooter to 36v (with new controller and throttle), then add hoverboard batteries. Hoverboard batteries are 4.4 AH each and you can fit 3 of them under the deck, giving you 13.2 AH, which should get you close to 12 miles. Here is a Facebook group of people modding these Razor scooters. Check out the "Files" section for basic how-to. Feel free to ask questions. facebook.com/groups/1767120973337718 Peace, Duane

    Search KZread for how to match the wires. I saw a video a long time ago that did a great job of identifying each wire on the China controllers. I would share a link but now I can't find it. Something like... How to hook up ebike controller... Or something like that. Good luck bro!

    why not just keep the old batteries in there place make a disconnect and use them as backup

    15 mph @ 24 volts. You can get more speed if you run it at 36 volts, but the motor will eventually die.

    Not a scam. Of course you can get throttles and controllers cheaper if you shop around and if you want to try and figure out what connects to where. But with the kits from Fast Scooters, it's all plug and play. There is no guess work. I'm happy to pay extra for that. They have sold hundreds of kits so they are doing something right.

    @@XDM50 I've just found that you can get better preprocess and better deals elsewhere if you know what you are looking for. Problem is, very few out there will honestly consult with you too determine what that is.

    @@XDM50 that's the problem. It would be very simple to just tell someone what connects to what and why but most companies either won't tell you that out don't know themselves so they try to just sell you two or three things instead

    After getting nowhere with any of the dealers and being told my scooter was a list cause, what I wound up doing is spending about six weeks learning everything I could about the things, until I was confident enough to fix it myself. The whole thing started over the throttle, 3 wires,5 wires, 7 wires etc. I was told everything from"they don't make those anymore" to "you have to but the throttle and controller together as a set" but what I found out was they're all full of shit it don't know what they're talking about because I could wire up just about anything as a throttle. In fact, I do have a peddle on the deck as a secondary throttle now. I've used three or four different controllers and changed components half a dozen times and nothing I was told was ever true. It's not rocket science but many dealers sure would have you believe it is. My 17 mph scooter that was supposedly a lost cause just ripped 40mph the other day during testing of the boost module I'm working on. Your overvolt idea is the right one but what I would do, is I were you, is get a good controller, something that has at least 12 mosfets in it that can handle varying voltages above and beyond the 36v, at least up to 48v and 30 amps. Them get yourself a second battery to match the one you have in voltage poor wait till it's time to buy another battery and get two instead. As soon as you connect two batteries in parallel and overvolt by at least 12-20 volts over what the motor rates at, you will be blown away. I run 56v through a Currie 1000watt 36v rated motor and it loves it. The extra amps that flow because of the second battery give it so much not torque is unreal. And the 20 extra volts, with a few mods, room it from 17-19mph, to 37-40mph, with five times the range.
