Their videos do not even reach 10 minutes in most cases. He literally tests everything. Go watch and judge for yourself.Do not take my words for it. Most tech reviews are just ads nowadays. @@twistedoracle1144 Yes in general Jarrod is great. However watching his reviews cannot guarantee you will buy the product you may be satisfied with. Even If his review stay positive. Not so long ago I did a purchase of Acer helios 300 after watching a few reviews including Jarrod's. After 2-3 weeks I had to returned it. Cannot stand the pitchy noise of fans. Especially because they whirr up just because windows update or watching youtube videos. So for future reference I highly would apreaciate If he could add the comment about the things that might tick off some people. PS. fan curve was covered in a review of Bob of all trades. Unfortunately that review came up after i purchased my unit.

    I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Razer Blade 15 Advanced and the Razer Bade 17 Pro though both versions have the same specs besides the display resolution and size, the Razer 15 Advanced includes a 15.6''inch Full-HD(1920x1080) - 300Hz display while the Razer Blade 17 Pro has a 17''inch (4K) - 120Hz display, both versions are equipped with 16GB Dual-Channel (8GB x 2) DDR4-2933MHz, 1TB SSD (M.2NVMe), 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10875H 8 Core (2.3GHz/5.1GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER with Max-Q (8GB GDDR6 VRAM). The end result was I ended up returning the Razer Blade 17 Pro as an exchange for the Razer Blade 15 Advanced because it runs most if not all games at Full-HD/Ultra/High settings getting around 60-120 FPS while the Razer Blade 17 Pro performs (Okay or Badly) depending on the set Resolution scale and a video-games set graphical settings. Keep in mind if you plan on buying the Razer Blade 17 Pro it's not (recommended) playing new games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Star Wars Battle Front II at 4K resolution with graphical settings set to Ultra and Ray-Tracing turned on if so expect to get around 15-28 FPS. Now you can obviously lower a video-games graphical settings to High/Medium/Low at 4K without Ray-Tracing turned on but only except a small FPS boost of around 28-30 FPS or maybe slightly higher while the other solution is to lowering the native resolution to 2304x1440 or 1920x1080 but expect some icons and Images to look smaller and some video games may look somewhat blurry, this is because you would be lowering the recommended Native 4K resolution to a non-native resolution such as Full-HD 1920x1080p. So my best advice for most hard core gamers is to opt-out from buying the 3,699 dollar Razer Bladed 17 Pro laptop and buy the Razer Blade 15 Advanced or wait 6 to 10 years till Nvidia releases the next generation RTX 40 series Max-q graphics.

    Welcome to the channel, probably during my stress testing for thermals and some games, would maybe be less of an issue with a higher wattage power brick unless the laptop is programmed to drain the battery slowly over time to prevent it sitting at 100% for long periods of time as other brands are known to do.

I also use the laptop for adobe cloud usage like photoshop, ljghroom and premiumpro . Should I buy 2080 maxQ super ($2799) which comes with 1Tb SSD + 16GB or 2070 maxQ super ($2399) which comes with 512Gb SSD + 16GB would be enough for the above usage? Thanks

    The results surprise me. I have the blade with the 2070 Max Q and comparing 3Dmark results, I got 16,059 on fire strike (vs 16,749 on yours) and 6,750 on time spy (vs 7,258). These gains from a 2080 are 4-8% which seems small given the price difference at least in Australia of circa $1k to reach $5k on a $4,099 laptop (although in practice I think some vendors had it $3,600-$3,800 in the lead up to 9th gen CPUs). FYI I used gaming profile and this was on a cooler master ergostand iii laptop stand.

    Cheers! I have a review of the Scar III coming in a few days, but have already put out videos covering gaming and thermal performance so you can use those to decide. The CPU performance in the scar was a bit disappointing, higher temps too, so it costs more money but I'd lean towards the blade unless you really need the extra GPU power and will be using high/max settings in games to take advantage of the non max-q GPU.

    Love your content, as usual. I currently own a 2070 MQ Blade 15 Mercury, and was wondering if I should bother selling it now before prices continue to plummet due to increasing availability of 240Hz panels/9th generation CPUs? Neither of which seem like great upgrades to me, but I would rather upgrade and lose 200$ than lose $800 after a few months, if you know what I mean? There isn’t a whole lot of viable competition in this space besides the GS65 and Aero 15, though, so I don’t know how the value of my device will fare in the market.

    Cheers! Depends if you'll actually benefit from 240Hz, from my testing so far even with a non max-q 2070 you still need lower settings and esports titles to benefit from it. I haven't done a proper comparison with the 9750H yet, but so far I'm not that impressed. Depending on how much money you'd lose selling it I probably wouldn't bother.

    I found the keypad hard to get used and figured out that the characters on secondary keys are backwards. As an example look at the less than - comma, greater than - period, or question mark - forward slash keys. Instead of the comma, period, and forward slash being on the bottom they are on the top. I think you can get much better thermals by repasting with a higher quality paste than the factory paste job. Using grizzly kryonaut, I actually score in the 1200s on CR15 with my 2018 GS65.

  • @JarrodsTech

    @JarrodsTech

    5 жыл бұрын

    Better thermals, possibly, though not something I can test myself in a review unit, however I don't think it would help improve the performance here. ~1230 seems to be best case from Cinebench R15 with the 8750H from my experience, the limitation in this one is power limit throttling, I assume as a measure to prevent it getting too hot, nothing we can really do to fix that except try and undervolt more to do more with the power we're able to get.

  • @KshitijChawla

    @KshitijChawla

    The Grizzly Kryonaut is Liquid Metal correct? Not sure I read a comprehensive review that good quality non-liquid metal gives almost as good temps. Liquid metal alloys itself with copper heatsinks over time, say after a year and change, which reduces the heatsink's thermal exchange ability. Not sure I would wana do that to a >2k USD machine.

    I noticed you didn't mention many of the QC issues this laptop has been reported to have. Notably: crackling power bricks, frequent BSODs (likely due to uncooled NVMe SSD controller), wildly varying performance (as much as 21% between notebooks with the same configuration), and deceptive VRM/power limit design. The unit is designed with a fixed 60W indefinite power limit and 80W burst power limit to the CPU. The adapter is strong enough, but after a short amount of time, heat-dependent, the VRMs will give up and drop the power to the CPU to a maximum of 45W. Do you have any responses to these comments? Although you did mention screen bleed, which is another QC issue.

    The Triton is not Max-Q 2060, however the 2060 does not have G-Sync, only the higher GPU options come with G-Sync. Is a Razer Blade 15 2060 worth the high price without a 4K display vs. something like an XPS 15 with a 4K display? I would be using this for video editing, not gaming.

  • @JarrodsTech

    @JarrodsTech

    5 жыл бұрын

    Personally I find 4K at 15" extremely niche, everyone I know that has actually uses it gets angry about not having 1080p and just end up running it at 1080p anyway due to various scaling issues. For video editing in particular, personally I edit 4K video, my laptop has a 1080p screen, but I work with 720p proxies anyway, more than enough information for me to get my work done, so depends what level you need. For photo editing having more pixels might actually be more useful though. If you're using Adobe Premiere I wouldn't expect too much improvement in export time with the 2060 over what ever the XPS is coming with.
