UPDATE: 😂 So about 5 mins after posting this, Razer formally announce the updated version of the Blade (I mention in the video) with OLED display, the same RTX graphics and new 9th-gen Intel CPUs! It's not a direct replacement, just higher end SKU! bloody tech world moves so fast! 😂

Don't think they are using the new top-end 8 cores processors tho. The 9th gen i7 they used were still 6 cores.

Maybe, but Razer is the "Apple" of the gaming community. Razer makes the most expensive products to justify the name brand.

Apple computers don't break after 12 mo and Apple has great customer service. Razar has a 14 day return policy and 1 yer warranty. Return fast or you F**ked.

@Knavery I spent £3500 on a fully loaded macbook pro 15 in 2016 and the keyboard is now broken. I've never had an apple computer fail before, the new macbook keyboards are a fail, as is the touchbar

Jag Dhatt 5 hours and 30 minutes if you have chroma but if you tweak it properly around 6 and a half hours. A good compromise since it’s a strong performer.

know whats funny ? 2018 and 2019 models of the blade 15 , have their 2 pin power button connected to a 7 or 8 ( i dont remember how many ) pin connector thats called fingerprint reader ... razer scraped that idea .. i dont see any good reason to not include the fingerprint reader ..

And as we speak, the OLED version along with the 240Hz refresh rate laptops has been announced today I believe. Really hoping for @The Tech Chap to update this review at a later date hopefully by including the newest options :)

Does anyone know how well the 1080 model does with 3D rendering?

Is a Razer Blade 15 2060 worth the high price without a 4K display vs. something like an XPS 15 with a 4K display? I would be using this for video editing, not gaming.

Interestingly, being from the UK, you don't seem to point out that the key backlighting, which in the US models' secondary keys, is now lit, isn't actually lit at all in UK or other (Europe or Asia) layout models.

you cant keep a i9 under 80C with a d15 or a aio at stock speeds, is worst then fx

I might choose this over the 2070 super triton 500 because of the easy access to insides

I had the 2060 Mercury White edition of the Razer Blade 15 Advance. Loved everything about it except for how hot the keyboard area and wrist area got. Was literally burning my hand while I played. I had to undervolt the CPU or else it was hitting 100c and thermal throttling. Ended up exchanging it for the Asus Zephyrus. No more problems with thermals, hot keyboard or hot wrist pad.

The cpu and gpu are no where near the wrist area, and your temperatures are much higher than anything I've seen online. Unless you were playing Witcher 3 on high settings for hours on end, I think you're lying.

great video review. question please help me to understand, is this powerful enough to connect to professional 4k monitor and do profesional level photo editing on photoshop and lightoom. I do not care about video editing and i do not care at all about gaming and 144hz 4k display, and i am not going to do editing work on a laptop, yes sometimes on location i am going to use it tethered with lightroom but in general i dont need 4k display variant, because as i said, i have my 4k monitor. just photoshop and lightroom.

I have a request that seems a little unorthodox. Could you benchmark the same phone, same benchmarks, but simulate different points in the phone's life cycle? For instance, a version of the phone (a new, few years old model) that is retail new vs a used one, hopefully a model that someone you know has actually had and used in the real world for several years.

@@MoreCharactersThanNeeded The only moment you could consider the speakers to be bad is when you're using the laptop on your lap or on one of those laptopholders. The laptop mst be placed on a flat surface ( desk/table ) because it needs a surface to reflect the sound. I found it to be very loud

I have an old touch laptop and I need more power and I want to buy new PC but I want it to be touch but at the same time I want a lot of power and I have more or less than 2mil € so I can not buy a very powerful laptop that can also handle it. time put more hardware. 1-I know that it is possible to connect an external graphic (GPU) to a laptop by means of a Thunderbolt port but would it be possible to better connect a desktop computer (CPU)? 2- connect a desktop PC to a laptop touch to use it as a real-time monitor without latency, the only thing I can think of is using a teamviewer but the connection is via wifi.

Do they finally support Power Delivery? I like the single cable connection when using my XPS 15 at work.

Lukewarm reception was probably due to stale/weird design choices, e.g. 70 watt hour battery (vs 81 on the 15 inch?), 1080p 17 inch display. I think the new pro will quickly become the "base model" pro and be replaced by something that has an actual differentiating feature set beyond "2 inches bigger", like a larger battery and a 1440p display, probably when the next gen of Intel CPU's hits.

Great review!...IMO, it's too expensive. Gaming laptops lose half their value after 6 months, and due to the heat generation they get degraded quickly too...So I wouldn't risk it despite how good looking the laptop looks. However, if I were to go for a gaming laptop I'd get something with mid range specs that includes an XX60 GPU. Gaming on ultra settings on the go isn't worth the price unless you're wealthy, I say just play on medium settings on the go, and when you get home to your rig enjoy the ultra settings there.

I'm looking forward to the day Razer or someone else releases a version of essentially this exact laptop with the same sleek design and high-end specs, but a lot cheaper with the new AMD laptop processors

Long term review from me. Mic stopped working, face id and camera stopped working, oh and this cool logo at the back does not light. there is lots of people having same issue but razer seems to ignore their problem.... I been trying to fix it for about 2 months now and no results....

Ive constantly been hearing the 2060 is MUCH better value because the 2070-maxq variant is not worth the extra (for me it would be $350CAD) for the very minimal performance gain especially for gaming, is anyone able to weigh in on this? Also how would the battery life compare between the two for non-discrete gpu daily use. Thank you!

2060 is much better value, 2070 max q is barely stronger and has higher thermals.

Your video is coming too late. They just refreshed it today with a i7 9th Gen

How did you live with the fans? They sounded like jet turbines! I couldnt do anything intensive with other people around it was that irritating. I guess though thats the price of the power.

These laptops are great for those who have the money, but I could never fork out for one. It's like with first-hand VS second-hand cars. Wait a few years and get a second hand one, which will do everything you could need primarily, with the exception of high tier racing. I'll take my games at a lower graphical setting but running at it's optimum frames over spending the extra cash to have top visuals and top FPS any day of the week. At the end of the day, it's all about sitting down scrubs. :D :D :D

My blade 15 advanced rtx 2060 white Mercury, still working well . going to celebrate 10th month after December. Feel free ask questions.

TBH there are a ton of good looking gaming laptops but I would have to say this is the sexiest looking one out. It looks flawless but rugged and to be honest part of the reason why I would buy one would be looks. I want one real bad but I cant give up my Alienware 17r4, thats my baby lol

Just to clarify that if a laptop didn't have a charging port then you can charge with USB-C but If it has one then no you can't

One NVME only. That's why I ordered a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO+ same time. The basic has NVME + SATA 2.5, but it's thicker and sacrifices other things.

do you have a battery issue , its cannot fully charge 100% ? only 99% ( plugged in, not cherging )

Ive seen many others say you can upgrade it yourself. JayzTwoCents did a video on the razer blade where he opened it, pretty sure it was quite simple to do.

@@mrofficial2430 it comes with an m.2 drive. You can swap this out for a bigger one. The base model with a 1060 I think has a slot for an HDD as well.

@@mrofficial2430 Guess you would have to back up your most valued files on an external drive, and then reinstall the OS on the new one and transfer your files over after that.
