While I think this lift is about if not more impressive than a 500 kg deadlift, what you have to understand is the guys who’ve hit that weight were strongmen, while they focused more on the deadlift for it they still trained for other lifts, Ray on the other hand has really only had to dedicate himself to squatting, therefore it makes sense it’s so impressive, if Eddie or Thor only ever trained for the deadlift for years the WR would be higher, to what idk.

One of the most important moments in human history. Wow.

Most powerful squatter in history in my opinion
Powerlifting would be so much more popular if these lifts looked 1/10th as impressive as they truely are. You gotta be a dedicated weight lifter to truely appreciate the insanity of some of these lifts

This is amazing but honestly how were the spotters going to help if they were needed in just saying if that bar fell there is not much you could do to stop it 😂 I was worried for the spotters getting crushed
damn, he made that look easy though

For powerlifting, that is a really high bar.
I honestly don’t get the IPF still using these type of squat stands.

Under the "raw" rules, yes. But Paul Anderson did 930 with no sleeves, no belt, no suit of any kind. Did it in gym shorts and a t-shirt. Anderson's lift is what I personally consider to be raw.

Should have put 10 more kgs
