your ability to not repeat the passage you're familiar with over and over in practice sessions is amazing
UPDATE I decided not to continue to upload the rest of my learning path, as I feel it's not fair. I quickly learned this piece a year ago and have forgotten it at the same speed :) But it's not starting from scratch. I will begin a true From Start To Finish Series in February! Meanwhile, I have recorded a full recital when you can find the final(for now) version of Mahler's Adagietto, as well as a premiere of Ravel's La Valse. This is gonna be magnificent, along with the sumptuous and gorgeous Mahler movement.
Been obsessed with la valse lately and look what I found! You’re a hidden treasure on KZread. I could watch these practicing hands for hours. Such musicality, even in the midst of incoherence. Love what you do.
Your arrangements are always the best out there. Since I've discovered you by listening the one of the Glinka Valse-fantaisie, I have no doubt that you are one of the greatest artists alive of this century. Can't really wait for this one, La Valse being one of my favorites pieces of all time...

This is so interesting to hear how a professional dissects a piece ❤️
Magnificent playing. Loving this multicam video setup!
You're one of my favorite pianists. This is a marvelous treat. I'm looking forward to the completed recordings.

More practice video please
hello i found sum links on ur site that werent working so i sent an email but never heard back
It will be a privilege to hear the recording. And many thanks for indirectly leading me to Ivo Pogorelić at age 25 working on the same piece with his teacher and wife Aliza Kezheradze: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aGRtpLCimrGedNo.html

Thank you. They actually worked on Gaspard de la nuit, not La Valse. But I love this documentary too. My first music teacher in Moscow was Georgian. She was a great master, I didn't merry her though) Both had some simularity in how to approach music which is really close to my heart.

@@VyacheslavGryaznovPiano Yes, Gaspard was composed 12 years before La Valse. It was both your and Pogorelić’s commenting on the conceptual complexity and difficulty in playing these pieces that captured my attention, particularly the latter’s discussion of chromatic seconds. On marrying one’s teacher, perhaps it is a European thing -Ivo and Aliza in Croatia, Emmanuel and Brigitte in France ... 🇭🇷🇫🇷. Perhaps it’s a matter of both being confident enough to ignore the teacher-pupil “authority/societal” gate. Pogorelić’s and Kezheradze’s romance - he was 18 when he began studying with her, 22 when they married (she was 21 years his senior), 25 in the video link, and 38 when his wife died- is a cool example of the unlikely and sometimes wonderful paths life weaves for us. Van Gogh may have captured the reason: “Normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.”
Recording in a week? Are you going to learn la valse and record it in a week? Iam baffled..
