    Keep your YJ, She still a beauty if dialed in right. And then, if you can, get yourself a Willys MB, that's what Bam Bam is. A CJ (Civilian Jeep) came later. Bam Bam (if I not mistaking) She is an MB 1943 WWII. I hope you enjoy Raush Creek my friend, it is off-road Heaven, I used to come there from Jersey. Take care.

    Both are standard shift, but not stock transmissions. Both have a "granny low" gear. SM465 in BamBam, SM420 in other In most of those rock crawls, the idea is to put in lo-lo, let out the clutch and never touch it again, unless have to stop or reverse.

  • @jeepfever5973

    @jeepfever5973

    BamBam rolled twice this past year. Having a full cage meant no real harm done. I have 2 rules when deciding on a trail to take 1) do not go if body damage is guaranteed, 2) do not go if there is risk to roll. If you notice, there is no video of my '2A on a couple of those hills that BamBam went up, in my opinion those were a little too close to the roll point for me :-)

    Stock suspension, 225 Dauntless V6, front axle is nearly identical to BamBam, rear axle is similar (30 spline Dana44), but with TrueTrac. Gears are 3.73, so not geared as low as BamBam. SM420 trans, and stock Dana300 xfer gives 69:1 crawl ratio

    A stock CJ2A has a crawl ratio of 37:1. “BAM BAM” has an SM465 truck transmission and Rockeater 3.6 gears in the transfer case for a crawl ratio of 107:1. The other flatty, “Wilson”, has an SM420 and a 63:1 ratio.
