Ratt was one of the few hair bands who didn't fall into the power ballad trend and still sold millions of records. That's because they stayed true to themselves and the fans loved them for it.

On the recent cruise, in his cabin, Stephen was listening to the 80s Power Ballads channel…he said that was his ritual before his shows. ‘Heaven isn’t too far away’ by Warrant was playing, and Stephen was seen kind of fawning over Jani Lane’s vocal. But I think the previous comment is accurate, he himself can’t really sing like that. I wouldn’t change a thing, I think what he does on those classic Ratt records is effin PERFECT! 😊

As a teenager in the 80’s , dang it man did we have fun. I liked Ratts sound liked their songs. I bought albums I thought I was getting my monies worth , most if not every song was good. No skips. Rat filled that for me in spades along with AC/DC , Judas Priest , Ted Nugent etc.

I liked Ratt, only problem I had with them was that EVERY record after CELLAR was the same!!that is what mainly separated Motley Crue from them and the pack, they changed sound and image with each album, although I do wish they had kept that gritty, street sound they had with SHOUT but in any case Ratt was good, but imo very complacent!!

Agreed. He is the true Ratt. It's quite frankly ridiculous that they took ownership of the name from him. He invented the band and everything about it, and has more songwriting credits than any other member, and more years in the band, since the '70s. I say give him what is rightfully his and get the 4/5 classic Ratt lineup rolling with Carlos Cavazo back on 2nd guitar. 🎸

And I guarantee I speak for many that was in the same boat . I posted this in the Blotzer video, but it should go here too..... I'm 53 and was lucky to be in my young prime in the 80s and of course I saw many, many concerts in SoCal, and the worst one I ever saw was Ratt at the Forum in either 85 or 86. Pearcy was absolutely awful and even though Ratt was one of my favorite bands, I just couldn't stand another song.... It was the only concert that I ever left early in my entire life. < All that being said, I still love me some Ratt.... "You take the midnight subway train, you're calling all the shots......... "

There were some kickass bands in the 80's ... Skid row, guns, the crew, white snake.... But what gave Ratt the edge was their lead guitar( Warren deMartini) this is why Ratt's sound was unique( my opinion) example... Lets take slash, and Eddie Van Halen away from their bands..... I understand how important a front man is.... And drums and bass.... Steven pierce is one of my favorite frontmen, his vocals put the stamp on their trademark sound.... I just think gutiar made that much difference

There’s a reason why 80’s Glam and Hair bands are known as being the best guitarist era and that’s not because of the shit they wore or there hair it’s because they had talent flowing from there fingers and coming out through those amps and the makeup, hair, and clothes didn’t play those instruments and didn’t write those great tunes.

Since the 90's its monotone vocals(no range),choruses synonymous with the verses (bad songwriting) and no instrumental break/solo (poor musicianship)... U2,Nickelback,FooFighters,Oasis ,,,all hacks

RATT has to be the most dysfunctional band to ever be successful. They are one of greatest band to come out of the LA scene. I must say that for a long time their problem seemed tragic, but now it aged into just pathetic.

The band (minus Robbin and Juan), set up a partnership sometime in the 90s called WBS, which wasn't exactly legally binding (no official contracts, no lawyers, etc). Over time, Blotzer tried to make himself head of the partnership and kick Stephen and Warren out. He highjacked the Ratt name, which he didn't have rights to use. The rest of the band sued him. The case was finally settled last year I think, which is why Stephen doesn't say much about it here, as it was still ongoing. The judge ruled in favor of Stephen, Warren and Juan. Douchebag still owes Juan from a different lawsuit.

Love Ratt and Pearcy, Juan Croucier has always been the coolest and a mobile danger. And King Crosby, heart and soul of Ratt. It was unfair what happened to Ratt, Winger, Warrant and everyone else... I mean, welcome to Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains, but why put to disgrace the 80’s heroes? In my little universe both Ratt and Nirvana could have existed, both having success. I don’t feel the need to categorize music, if it sounds good for you... Then enjoy it! Anyway Ratt were superior to many 80’s bands, i mean Poison and Bon Jovi. And i do love Poison and Jovi!

They had to jump through the same hoops and went through the same struggles as the grunge guys yet they were ridiculed because they dressed different on stage and wore leather and makeup. I love Grunge and Glam metal but the glam guys were interesting because of their showmanship on stage.
