Gesso is a primer. With paint it can make your surface easier to paint on by making it smoother and prevents the paint from absorbing into the canvas or surface as much. It is usually white, but you can get clear and other colours. Even adding a little paint to Geaso can change its colour. I do like the tip of specifying what parts you want to work on to try improve first! And actually working on specific things you want to improve is helpful ha ha so avoiding it doesn’t help someone get better. The black outline tip looks really useful! Ah yeah, thanks for letting me know, I thought is has something to do with priming. I'm still really suprised it works with paper though, I definitely have to try
