Rather Splendid Walking Tour of Kensington - London

Joolz takes you on a quirky and rather splendid walk around Kensington, one of London's most exclusive neighbourhoods. See the shops where Princess Diana frequented and the house where Freddie Mercury lived.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is where Kensington Palace sits and hence Princess Diana walked these streets. There is also Kensington Palace Gardens, London's most expensive street and some cute little museums. We visit Linley Sambourne House as well as antique shops and vintage clothing stores.
Michael German Antiques is where I bought my walking cane and Hornets is wear I've bought many of my bowler hats and boating blazers.
All this and much more in this fun Joolz Guide about Kensington.

I attended the same college as Freddie Mercury. He is probably the most famous British Asian to have ever lived (so far). His early life mirrors those of many other British Asians. As a British Asian myself, I think it's a shame that he's still not recognised as such, nor did he during his career, particularly considering the racial tension back then.

I met Joolz as I was coming out of Monument tube station. He was so kind and friendly. He offered to have a picture taken with him. Since I had watched many of his videos in preparation for my trip to London, I felt like I was meeting an old friend. Thanks for all you do and for who you are. Anne H, Portland OR

Good Question and Answer: steeple is the entire construction (tower usually with a bell) and the spire is only the pointy bit at the top.

These videos are delightful. As a Brit living in London who studied and lived in central London, they're incredibly nostalgic! Thank you!

Hi Joolz, Freddie proposed but never married Mary but he said despite all of his other relationships he regarded her like a wife. She had a home next door to his. Mary is the only person he entrusted his ashes to its final resting spot. He lived at his home with his partner Jim Hutton.

I worked in Kensignton for 10 years, I've learned a LOT from this Video, in my opinion, your best yet! I saw Diana often, a few times with with Harry & William, met her properly twice, very precious memories.

Just stumbled upon this site and am bowled over with joy! As an Anglophile American these videos are right up my street. I can't decide if I should spend the weekend binge-watching or dole them out as a special treat. I'm in heaven. :)

Bloomin 'eck! Love the versatility, from 'we don't need no stinkin badges' to Shakespeare in one video. Your pop references are always on point and quick! I never catch them all in one go. And how apt to find the figurine, you are a modern day Beau Brummel! Always a pleasure Joolzy 💚

Great video. I love how you chat to the shopkeepers and get the local stories. The chap in the cane shop was so interesting.

I was under the impression The Muffin Man lived on Drury Lane, but I guess I'm wrong. He lives in Kensington. Brilliant outfit by the way.

I absolutely LOVE all your videos! As an American that's hopefully gonna be studying at LSE in London next year, would you consider making a video that tours around some of London's famous universities and interesting historical sights nearby? I bet a lot of international students would be greatly inspired! I definitely hope to have a tour with you soon!!

Splendid indeed! Just found this video, looking forward to watching more - I do hope they’re all as wonderful as this one! I often get on a ferry from Greenwich pier just for the pleasure of hearing the tour guide ramble away about London. What a joy!

Freddie Mercury had a stall in Kensington market selling clothes and the outfit he wore on top of the pops singing killer Queen were all off the stall
