The Beatles London Tour - 50th Anniversary of Abbey Road
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles album Abbey Road here's my tour of Beatles location in London. Mark Myers, who runs Beatles London Yesterday and Today takes us around all the sights in his London taxi.
See where it all started for The Beatles in London where they were turned down by Decca records.
We also visit the famous Abbey Road studios.
Also Paul McCartney's house, Brian Epstein's house, where he lived and died.
Marylebone Station where they filmed A Hard Days Night and the registry office where Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney got married.
Then there's the house where John Lennon lived with Yoko Ono and the shops where The Beatles bought their musical instruments.
We also visit Paul McCartey's office and the house where he composed Yesterday, as well as the house where all the Beatles lived together.
There's also the final location where the Beatles performed live in Savile Row and finishing at the pub where The Beatles used to drink with Brian Epstein.

Ever break out the N2O and go see the Eggman Doc,,, I knew a cool Doc long ago. Can't do those things these days,,, Everything is bad. I blame big Pharma for the rate of mis use in the states, Not the Dr. Who ever heard of using a substance first used for general anesthesia made pain killer. Killer being the key word.

This brought back great memories for me .My dad worked at Marylebone station as a ticket collector,so when Hard Days Night was filmed he took me and my mum ,I was only 8 years old.I vividly remember the screaming echoing around the station. We got Wilfred Brambles autograph and Norman Rossington we couldn't get near the Beatles.Sadly my dad died a year later. So when I see the beginning of this film I always think of my dear dad.My son who's autistic belongs to a choir and had the privilege of performing inside Abbey road studios this year I went too with his support worker .What an amazing place it is .Thank you so much for this added by your great sense of humour.Im now sending this to my son and have subscribed.Thank you again,Sharon 😊

The times I've crossed that zebra crossing and hung out outside the studio back in early 60s. Also Peter Ashers house and Green St. Peter's house did not have all those lovely flower around it back then. Was one of the screaming kids when the train was pulling out in A Hard Days Night. Also at Scala Theatre. Have some wonderful memories of those days and wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I went to school in Surrey with Ringo's stepdaughter in the 1980s. I got to see him a couple of times when he came to school for special events. I heard from kids on her school bus route that the bus had problems getting through the gates of their estate and he would complain.
This is the Best tour ever. And love the driver's sense of humor LOL!
I've been to Paul McCartney's house before. He has a big round bed that spins ontop of a wedding cake style few steps up to it under a large open skylight ceiling in a 'summer house' in his garden. Looks like a fantastic place to take your better half and show her the stars ;-)
"my plaque's on my teeth" is one of the great one-liners! Oh and this vid is just majestic yet so English that I had a post-dinner gin rather than my usual whisky. The real scene-stealer? That Saab 90 at 3:33.
The Old Justice pub in Bermondsey is the setting for Paul McCartney's song No more lonely nights
It is incredible that such homage is still paid to a band over 50 years later. I live in the USA but was in England many years ago and considered visiting Liverpool. I didn't figuring the Beatles would have been forgotten and everything very changed but it seems the area is still proud of the boys and now I wish I went. I think I am more of a fan now then I was as a kid and back then I was a big fan. I wonder if the Beatles were aware back then how much historical relevance they would still have over 50 years later and places like Abbey Road, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields etc would be tourist sites for adoring fans much less any other places they were known to live or frequent or even be mildly associated with. Fan or not it is objectively evident what an impact they had on so many lives. And just going by number of hits and record sales shows a lot more people liked them then didn't. I for one would find it hard to imagine a world without them and their music. And now with this Peter Jackson documentary out it seems they are still more popular then ever and not only maintained a fan base after all this time, but are gaining new.
I think this was the first Joolz Guide I watched, in early lockdown. I've since watched nearly all the other ones. Now that I'm fully conversant with all the Joolz' idiosyncracies I've just re-watched it and found it even more informative and entertaining. For someone who doesn't know a lot about the Beatles, Joolz knows a lot about the Beatles! And Mark is an absolute gem also.
Joolz! So great to see you again! Hope the holiday was nice. This is a brilliant video!! Again! Love the inclusion of the taxi driver, Mark. He's a cheeky one! And the chasing fans! Brilliant! You just made my Sunday morning. Cheers Mate!

Much like many Beatles fans I too went down to Boston Place to re-enact the opening of A Hard Day's Night...this video was worth the wait! I only wish it were an hour long :)
Really interesting video, I never realised that the Beatles had so much of a connection to London. You hear so much about them growing up in Liverpool and their start in the music business there that you don't often hear about other places they lived. Also can Mark now advertise himself as the tour guide's tour guide?
