I can agree, I played all parts of the Patapons, but Ratatan didn’t impress me at all, but the music doesn’t feel right at all (according to the sensations, it doesn’t even reach the level of patapon 2, I’m generally silent about part 3) Honestly, I really tried to somehow perceive this trailer and watched it about 3 times to look at it from different angles, but the feeling is this: the game is like for children... (the feeling of the music)

I once briefly watched a kid playing Patapon and the memory has been dormant in my head for so many years. Something about those little eye fellows was so memorable. Recently, I finally found out what the game was called and it has been wild discovering the series as a whole, living through its triumphs and disappointments within the span of a few hours. I'm glad to have rediscovered Patapon now that its spiritual successor is on the horizon. My hopes are high for the future!

I am so thankful of everyone who donated towards the creation of this masterpiece. I know this is going to be an incredible game and I can't wait. The kickstarter goal was met in LESS THAN AN HOUR!

​​@@fhantom2115I don't have any concrete information but if I had to guess Patapon IP is trademarked to the pons by Sony since it had been developed by their Japan Studio (now disbanded) exclusively for PSP.

This is going to be a day 1 for sure. Patapon was one of the most creative rhythm games ever made.

It's been more than a decade since I've last played 3 with my friends and Patapon still finds its way into my heart. I just hope the people I used to play with hear of this great news.

I still play the old Patapon games through emulation from time to time, but it's really cool to see a new entry with a new (and gorgeous) graphical style. I only worry that so much detail may interfere with gameplay readability, but other than that, I absolutely welcome this new spiritual successor!

In the Stream Gameplay, just once, a background ruin did hide a enemy, and the players were searching It cause could not advance, but was just that, they can mover It or remover it

I'm crying tears of joy. This is beautiful it's like reuniting with a long lost friend years after you've forgotten all the good times you've had together. Also I'm enraged that the entire Patapon trilogy is still PSP exclusive. I really wish it was on Steam.

I can play the entire trilogy on my cellphone through PPSSPP emulation coupled with a Razer Kishi controller, it's insanely easy to setup and run.

I played Patapon a lot, and this trailer made me teary-eyed. Finally a successor to Patapon.

This is so cool! Seeing this gave me some proper goosebumbs. And then came Dodonga looking scarier and better than ever, even keeping his original attack poses! This'll be a good game.

Been a Patapon fan since 3 came out and have played the trilogy. I always view the series my number one(second is MonHun) to have a special place to my heart. Just hearing the news of a Patapon successor made me really hopeful that the concept and Idea of the series could be expanded upon. Very hopeful with Kotani and Adachi picking up the role again to make the previously left out ideas they have into a reality! Life's been rough on me recently but I really couldn't express how happy I am hearing this news past few days ago. Now checking it out made me smile and have something to look forward happily in the future!

This was everything I could've wanted and more! I can't stop rewatching the trailer I'm so hyped for the game to come out!

oh that's cool that each fighting group has an uberhero serving as some kind of sargeant or lieutenant for you instead of just one uberhero you probably get to play with 3 or more

I think that the gameplay shown for multiple heroes are for multiplayer based on the commands shown on top of each heroes. Honestly happy that you could actually bring your own troops on multiplayer instead of just the heroes.

they were playing on multiplayer mode... you can see the heroes move individually.. also the heroes seems to act as the hatapon and can use spells

A spiritual successor to my favorite game on the PSP, this brings me tears of joy! I can't wait to play this

Im so happy that the folks who helped make patapon havent given up on this genre. Sometimes you get those games that come along and are just so unique that you cant really find anything like it. Patapon was one of those games. If this trailer is any indication, it looks like this is really going to bring the genre into the modern day with beautiful animation, crisp music, and bigger gameplay variety. So, so excited for this!

This game exudes so much joy! What a lovely comeback, I hope it will introduce many new fans who never knew about Patapon!

I was so young when I first played patapon on the psp, I didnt even know how to save my game. This music has brought back something far more ancient and powerful than a simple core memory. My soul has yearned for their return.

This is so lovely, I wish this game become popular because I've always loved the rythm rpg gameplay aspect of Patapon.

hopefully raratan had same feeling with patapon 2 mechanics/army/grind but with patapon 3 music/Uber heroes/ bosses my nostalgia is kicking in AAAaaaa truly a hidden gem game !!

0:51 damn this "ya-ho-hoi" transition to fever mode made me experience all of the patapon series in a second flashback

Patapon left such a significant mark on me, and when Patapon 3 ended, I was devastated. Now, Ratatan will be able to fill the hole in my heart.

Damn that's interesting, it looks like there's a main character that can just move around freely (I assume within range of the little scrunkly bois), and that kinda acts like the commander/Hatapon stand in. I also love that they're using the airship/zeppelin concept that was part of the original idea in Patapon 1. I can't wait for this game to come out.

From what I could see, it seems that the "pata pata pata pon" is now a "move towards commander" rather than a simple advance order.

I am pretty happy about the original developers of Patapon coming back to make a spiritual successor. However, I'm not really happy about the music. Maybe they'll have better music on other levels. But the tribal/indigenous vibe of the Patapon music was the reason I got attached to it. Specially with the combination of genres like EDM or even Metal. The music seems more childish, and I don't mean that it is bad because they took a more childish approach to the music. Patapon itself has come sort of child-like expression on their characters and voices. Yet the music was more catchy and interesting because of the more serious tone. Regardless, I am so happy they brought back Patapon but in a different "coat of paint." It's one of my favorite childhood games and it still hangs on to my heart to this day at the age of 25.

Yeah that’s the first thing I thought and came to the comment section looking for. It almost sounds like ‘marching band’ genre music, which is unfortunately a lot less catchy than the tribal beats. Like you said, I seriously hope that there’s better music in the game and it’s not all just whimsical band music 😅

Yes, Patapon, while songs were most likely singed by children, they had that warchant feeling, like soldiers yelling in response to their officer orders, here we have cutesy characters fighting and dying while singing kindergarden songs.

Patapon is the reason why I'm a musician. To see it get such an amazing spiritual successor makes me so happy!

The patapon art style and drums are so iconic it upsets me greatly the developers can't legally use them. I wish them the best of being able to overcome their previous work of a beast that was Patapon.

From what I can see you are no longer tied to a 4 beat rythm, I'm really happy about this, since the Patapon series lacks strategy and difficulty during gameplay. Really looking forward to more challenging rythm since the Patapon one gets pretty easy and repetitive after the first hour

I every so often go back to play a game of Patapon, it was my favourite game growing up, and still is. So it's amazing to see that a new studio has picked up the mantel of this kind of game... ...I *REALLY* do hope it's not multiplayer focused like Patapon 3 and parts of 2.

I just had this as an ad. I am very high right now, wtf did I just watch?! I love it, but that was a hell of a sneak preview.

As a fan of patapon 1 and 2, super glad they didn’t forget about the games and are making this ☺️

OMG this immediately hit me like "damn I used to play this on PSP didn't I!?!!?" how have we not had other games like this until now!

I have very vague memories of when my big brother used to let me play this on his PsP when I was very little, I'm so excited for one that's available on PC
