I was about to make the best dinner I ever have for my whole family and I spent quite a lot of time making it. Literally, 7 minutes before it was done my grandma made the rest of the family some "quick snack" because she "couldn't wait for my food to finish cooking". This "quick snack" as my grandma said, made everybody full so I sat there, eating my own food, alone in my own room. Could not find myself being more relatable to this cartoonish mouse than ever before... Thanks grandma, you made sure I would never ever liked to cook to you again

This crushed me because I remembered me going downstairs to drink water and seeing my father eating alone in the kitchen after all of us has eaten our dinner. As a kid, it was like nothing but now, I've realized that nothing more is excruciating than watching your father sacrifice almost everything of him just to feed his family to the point that he'll eat really late just for us to savour our dinner.
