How does an arthritic seagull get into a bag of crisps? What do oysters do to a bloodhound’s brain? Is pet food as tasty as it looks, and if a pigeon ate chicken, would that make it a cannibal? Peel back the lid to discover who visited your dustbin last night.
Nick Park’s Creature Comforts took the classic documentary style and applied it to the lives of wild animals and pets, matching a cast of clay characters with human voices to charming effect. Originating from Nick’s 1989 Academy Award®-winning short film, Creature Comforts was unique for using unscripted vox-pop interviews with the British public in a stop motion series that has become an Aardman classic.
The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

I came back to see one of these episodes thanks to a clip of the tiny mouse calmly eating an MnM, just to come out giddy and excited discovering they actually animated a Pigeon with a Jamaican woman's accent. Even as something so simple it just gave a whiplash of Euphoria, speaking as a Jamaican over in America. There is a huge Caribbean community over in the UK so I just thought it was so charming to see! :D

@jocelynecupcake
Жыл бұрын
I wish we still had the Qubo channel. In the USA, they don't have kids channels to play foreign kids shows anymore. They used to have Qubo channel, which had a lot of shows from around the world, mostly Canada and the UK. Since you mentioned Aardman, I'll let you know that Shaun the sheep used to be on Disney channel and Disney Junior, but they started to get greedy as Aardman got bigger (This was before Early Man and that pirates movie came out) and Disney's like "screw it" so they removed it. They used to used to have a British CGI kids show called Jungle Junction where the little animal characters were all on wheels and it was freaking adorable, but they got rid of that. They also got rid of Koala Brothers and Jojo's Circus, because evidently those were made in the UK even tho everyone sounded extremely American. Now they only show kids shows made by Disney, and most of their stuff is boring Sophia the first.
Do you know when you have a conversation with someone that ends up being something like being in bed at 3 in the morning thinking about the mistakes in your life? this entire video made me feel like this while having lunch
