Gary LeVox the lead singer was also roommates with actor Jamie Foxx for a while and they remain friends to this day. Jamie actually sang on one of their albums.

I watched them perform in person and they did this song and when I watched him singing live I just wanted to cry for no apparent reason but they sounded beautiful

I had heard various covers of this song over the years, but the first _serious_ cover I heard was Home Free's. I'd never heard Rascal Flatt's version until now. Gotta say I think Home Free takes them to school on this song. Sorry, but there it is.

First recorded by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994 on an album that in their words "no one bought". Rascal Flatts recorded it 10 years later. Home Free has an a capella version of it as well.

Just started watching y’all. The reactions y’all been pumping out got me to subscribe. I’ve done 3 donations to see 3 different Joey @ Rory songs. Joey she passed in 4/4/2016 cervical cancer. 1st song “see you there” was true story about her brother, 2nd song “when I’m gone” was written by song writer Sandy Lawrence. Joey and Rory fallen in loved song and had to record it. 3rd song “the preacher and the stranger” Rory loves sad songs that pulls at your heart and makes you thinking and he was introduce to this song. Look forward to see if y’all reacts to these requests.

Talking about songs having different meanings the best example is a Van Morrison song he wrote as a Christian song but when Rod Stewart covered it everyone thought it was a love song between 2 people. The opening line is "Have I told You lately that I love You, there's no one above You" if you react to this song, please do the Van Morrison version.

You may want to check out a band called journey, live in Houston 1980 with the lead singer called the voice Steve Perry John Bon Jovi, gave him that name voice you will not be disappointed

I prefer Rascal Flatts over Chris Stapleton any day Chris Stapleton can sing but in my opinion the lead singer of Rascal Flatts sounds better I wish someone would request I Won't Let Go by Rascal Flatts live version he really shows his runs and vocals on that song

Home Free's version is better to me.
