Defect is hard at first but it's the easiest when you learn him more. It's the only class i have ascension 20 with.

As someone who has played all classes to ascension 20, Defect is most definitely not the easiest. Silent is probably easiest to beat A20 with, Defect is hardest, because he relies so heavily on getting a few specific cards.

General consensus is that Defect is the easiest character for a noob playing Asc0, but the hardest to get A20H with. Probably because it's the only character with pretty much zero bad cards. I personally am a Defect main though

@@Lunaraia you can get infinite silent that doesn't care about time eaters gimmick, blur/dodge and roll is really strong and so is a lot of attacks depending on support

I really hope whoever suggested a coach for a single player video game with no competitive scene was joking... Also defect is one of the most fun classes I've played in any game. It's just an ADHD candy shop lol

@@scrapinator8898 you should avoid resting at campfires in the first place which is why coffee dripper is so strong, a single curse usually doesn't kill a deck like missing out on one energy does.

Hey! I know it's a bit early for you to look at mods, but if you're interested in the future, or for anyone else who might be, I made the mod "the Pokemon Master" on the Steam workshop. It's heavily inspired by the pokemon tcg and has a ton of complexity and modularity, while still feeling (hopefully) within the bounds of Slay the Spire's normal play pattern.

Haven't watched yet, which watcher experience did he have - the having a 10 minute turn and oneshotting a boss one, or the being unable to exit wrath and getting oneshot one?

Actually impressive how Rarran has great strategy skills, a lot of chat was just spamming cards they recognize from good common decks (prob from other streams) with no understanding of how they fit into his current deck, but he 100% had the confidence that chat was wrong and made the right deckbuilding move most of the time. If he was a StS streamer that would be one thing, but for someone with about 2h of total playtime that's pretty impressive.

I like rarrans streams over other people's because he doesn't spend the entire time responding to things I can't fuckin see. It's great

Defect is my literal fav character, love the robit to bits, ball lightning goes hard as a common, and watcher, despite getting to A20, is still my worst character, she has some super strong cards but I dont feel nearly as comfy when doing a run with her compared to the other 3, which I guess makes sense edit: in modded and rainbow custom runs, I will say using watcher cards is pog edit 2: also, thinking hard on watcher, especially first few times, is very normal

Whoever said you should play astrea is right, I went through it and the main balancing gimmick of the game is really fun

11:20 Having 1 orb that deals 7 a turn is not better than having 2 orbs that deal 5 each a turn. You’re cutting your damage by 3 for no reason since you can’t gain more orb slots yet.

I wish people would just stop blanket-defending whenever any type of criticism arises. Him playing Defect for the first time is UTTERLY irrelevant if the issue is just that he's refusing to read a single word. There doesn't even seem to be curiousity sparking in that brain of his when he runs into a new enemy. And no, the appropriate answer to this comment is not "then he'd take 20 years to finish one fight", because there's more to this world than extremes. Him hovering over a new enemy and reading what they do isn't too much to ask, it's extremely basic and easy to do.

Watcher/defect are both frustrating to me. I look at effects and I'm like "This is so busted!" and I can still barely hit A1. Don't think I've cleared Watcher yet!

Deva Form is like Demon Form, except the extra Strength from Demon Form rarely becomes redundant, unlike the extra Energy from Deva Form. I feel like Deva Form would actually be better on Silent because Silent has Finisher, Choke, Skewer, and a lot of card-draw.

@@jacobwansleeben3364 disagree, watcher can get really energy hungry with certain builds, it also pairs really will with fasting card draw and miracles. it's also cracked with monkey's paw. Demon form isn't that great because it's a ton of energy for just a slight damage increase in most decks compared to limit break or something

chat is so worthless, no one is telling him to focus on playing skills for the letter opener or to upgrade zap etc. 😮‍💨

I love this game so so much. I hope you end up playing Inscryption sometime too. One of the other best deck builders.
