WOW, how did I never see that clip before? That's insane! That might be more insane than Kripp's unstable portal tavern brawl game

My favorite Toast deck was "Mecha'thun without Mecha'thun". The idea is that Mecha'thun is basically a dead card until you win with it, so hey, just leave it out of your Mecha'thun deck and replace it with a more useful card! Once you get down to your last card, the opponent assumes it's Mecha'thun and concedes. He actually got the bluff to work several times.

There was an MtG player who did something very similar to that, sideboarding out the combo win from a deck because he knew his opponents would probably scoop before he would need to play the combo. If I remember correctly, the deck played a card which would occasionally exile the wincon, but that player would continue playing when that happened, knowing the bluff might end up winning regardless. Unfortunately, I believe said player also cheated some of his wins, but that bluff was still excellent.

Cant believe you left out Toast brining Sacrificial Pact to a tournament to kill his opponents hero as Jarraxus, and then forgetting to wake up the next day for the final.

It's even more impressive, cuz that mechathun was from that legendary that adds 5 legendary minions to your deck. The oponent didn't even run it on his deck

Must be the luckiest event in gaming history.

The Mecha-thun play might be the highest recorded variance in HS history. You'd be hard pressed to find somebody who got a) Mechathun from Prince Malchezar, b) Mindgames with allowable board space said Mechathun, c) Myra's before Cataclysm, and d) Cataclysm.

it's up there with the mario64 bitflip upwarp in all time 'that's not supposed to happen' videogame moments. Hell, game moments in general. I don't remember the exact math, but i've seen provable claims it's about as likely as just drawing three royal flushes back to back in stud poker. The chance is so abysmally low it made my statistician roomate take out a calculator when he first saw the clip back in the day.

The reason he actually showed his face is because he accidentally showed it like Rarran said but after a viewer try to blackmail and "leak" his face reveal, also I believe calling him ugly (?) and so he just said screw it and revealed it himself. To be fair I think he was already starting to pop off at the time. His lore videos and interaction videos were very high quality for the time. And his gameplay videos start to lean into fun rng/combos and clipable moments. Personally I do miss early toast but less so late toast. I get at times he was playing a high ego character but he started doing it too often and it became really insufferable

Someone on the Hearthstone subreddit actually did the math on the odds of that Mecha'thun play and it was something like 14 in a billion. One of the most insane moments in the game for me.

"His opponent has to be running Mecha'thun". That's the best part - they don't! Malchezaar RNG on top of Yogg rng could not have been any more insane.

His 4 simultaneous arena runs was godlike

Disguised toast was the one hearthstone KZread i regularly watched. Not only was his gameplay fantastic but he's just a super entertaining guy to watch. Shame that blizzard treated him so terribly but super glad he's still finding success playing other games

Toast found so many bugs and weird interactions.. it was always fun watching him at Hearthstone.

Toast removed the mask because someone was threatening to out him online so he did a face reveal stream. It was a big event it was fun to see live. Classic Kripp and toast were the best

toast had some of the best clippable moments! i definitely miss him in the hs community, but i’m glad he’s doing more of what he wants now

I think the most crazy part is how much more successful he is when he transition to a different game. Most content creators would destroy their channels if they did that.

Toast playing quest mage is what got me hooked into hearthstone back in 2017. Here we are now. 6 years and a whooooole lot of my money

My favorite Toast moment is when he couldn't win the game so he said he was going to use his mind powers to make the opponent concede. He then just starts making Super Saiyan 3 powerup sounds until the opponent (who it turns out was sniping) concedes.

I think my favourite clips were Yogg into Vanish. There's just something so funny in them being so anticlimax.

My favorite toast clip of all time will always be his Jaraxis demonic pact bait in tournament.

I missed Toast, I never laughed so hard as when rewatching some of these clips.

The old summon wild pyro off a spell only for it to trigger off of said spell and ruin your board / play.

If I recall, when Chameleos swapped to a different card type, it retained the previous card's stats - since it went from a minion with an attack value to a hero with technically no inherent attack value, the minion's attack stat just... wrote itself in. Ultimately harmless, except that one particular case.

the mecha'thun was obviously insane but i like to imagine that there's a set of people to whom the same thing happened, but without mechathun. ie play yogg, and get your board hand and deck destroyed with no compensation.

The Mindgames Mechathun win is by far my pick for the greatest moment in all of Hearthstone.

Toast stopped with the mask because some guy snapped a picture and threatened to reveal his face, so he did it himself.

Actually, Toast stopped wearing his mask, because it was basically his decision to do so. Some viewer saw him without a mask once on a stream (by accident he leaked it) and then started blackmailing Toast, asking for money or whatever, but Toast just decided to go through with it, and there we have him now as is
