This band banded the people together. I don't know any other way of describing the difference between them and other bands. All I know is how they make me feel when I watch them perform and listen to their music. I feel included. I feel that what they are doing is for us, just as much as it is for themselves. I am absolutely head over heels for Queen and especially Freddie. What a GIFT he was. A gift that keeps on giving and will keep on giving for generations to come. 💞

We can learn so much from Freddie and Queen. When you're not at your best you never give up you keep going. He said he was prepared to starve (and did )chasing his dreams. When the boys were about to give up Freddie said you have me now let's take one more shot. The rest is history. Queen #1 💖💖💖💖

They didn’t stop performing there because of Freddie’s ‘deteriorating health’. It was because the album Hot Space didn’t sit well with the US which made them lose popularity and lost them for good in the music video ‘I Want To Break Free’ because the US didn’t know what Coronation Street was.

Freddie was in perfect health when this performance was recorded. It was, however, their final tour of the US. not for health reasons, but for the simple fact that the members of Queen thought the American audience did not like them anymore after the release of the Hot Space album. Freddie also thought touring America was an exhausting effort he dreaded to endure. Both reasons mixed, they decided not to tour the US again. I saw this show when it was live and thought it was amazing. I also saw them live at Madison Square Garden in July of that year and it remains, to this day, the best live performance by any band I have ever seen. Please do proper research before posting something that is not true. It’s how rumors are started and in the end, it makes YOU look bad.

Wrong. He'd been to the doctor in NYS and had thrush, a known throat disorder in early HIV. He did not get into an argument with his boyfriend as it was well known he was on his own and in bath houses the entirety of his NYC stay. Although he was not diagnosed at the time, he was in the early stages of HIV. This is a fact and accepted by many of his friends and colleagues at this point.

How much he cared for him is wat it showed. 3)Brian giving Freddie encouraging looks in between and especially when Fred did that high note. 4) And of course Freddie giving a great performance as always even after how much his throat was hurting. At the end of the video you can definitely see that he well knew that this wasn’t his best performance but he loves his fans so much he did it for them. He was sad in this performance and didn’t have a very good day before

Absolutely nothing against Queen, Nirvana, the Replacements, or any of the MANY legendary performances SNL has been host to (if you haven’t seen Childish Gambino performing “This is America”, you need to), but the top spot in my book has to go to Elvis Costello in (I believe?) 1977- he had been booked on the show at the last second when the scheduled musical guest, the Sex Pistols, had to cancel “unexpectedly” after encountering Work Visa/customs problems due to criminal records of certain members- needing to find a last-minute replacement, Lorne Michaels “puts in a call for another one of those British new wave punk groups that everyone’s talking about”, and somehow Costello got the nod, haha... anyway, SNL, being legendary for censorship of musical guests, apparently tells Elvis Costello that the only song he’s allowed to play is “Alison”. So, in response, when they cut to the band live that night, after playing the first two notes or so of “Alison”, Elvis Costello waves off the band to stop playing, runs up to the mic and says “I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, but given the circumstances I’ve got no business playing anything other than this”, and immediately launches into “Radio Radio”, his anthem against the evil, censoring, controlling establishment, and earned himself a lifetime ban from SNL in the process! Which, of course, means he did it right, haha... “they say you better listen to the voice of reason/ and then they tell you if you don’t then they’ll say that’s it’s treason/ so you had better do as you are told/ you better listen to the radio” Genius. And totally legendary. Had the network producers clutching pearls, hahaha.... I highly recommend finding it and watching a piece of legendary rock history of you can. Sh*t’s important!

His promiscuous lifestyle caught up with him, they finally had the money to enjoy their success after getting ripped off from their first record deal and Freddie got busy checking out the scene. It seemed that some people may have thought it wouldn't happen to them but it did. I'm not dissing anyone just saying it was a different time.

I watched a documentary awhile back and it claimed 1984 was probably the year he contracted HIV just not diagnosed until 1986/87 Mainly because his sexual partners he had around that time also got HIV. They pinpointed it to a Russian friend that was introduced to freddie.

Yup, Rogerina is the king of multi-tasking😊..drummers who could sing back-up & reinforce the lead vocalist's vocals (whenever needed) is truly the backbone of any band..good job Mr Taylor..actually ALL members of Queen are working really hard to fill in for an under-the-weather Freddie..with such a great show of cohesion & camadarie, who needs a perfect performance?..I'm NOT in the least bit disappointed with Queen's one & only performance on SNL & in the States..Queen simply works..no matter what..♥♥♥😉😊!

Jodi Wood Real drummers don’t ‘bang’ their drums. Does he look like he’s banging them? Great drummers have an amazing economy of motion. They may sound like they’re getting banged but, done right, it’s pure grace.

WOW! Great - They were working in such a tight space and are still projecting effervescence, Freddie substituting body movements in place of using a big stage. QUEEN! Even Roger singing got good camera attention and of course John is especially present. Not what I'm used to on other videos. Brian doing his thing is fabulously shown to the TV audience also. Yes. I'll be revisiting many times. Thanks!

I can only imagine what it was like to sing in front of the whole world on that tiny stage over those three massive Vox guitar amps cranked up to 10. No isolation, no plexiglass barriers, nothing. Ive been in the room with Brian (I was in 3 separate productions of We Will Rock You) and just the hiss from his amps when they are idling is deafening. Freddie had some huge balls on him. Always did.

Seeing John’s shirt sure brings back memories or the good ‘ol 80s fashion!!!! It’s crazy how it’s making a return now. Especially the high-waisted pants!!! Lol John definitely seems like the quiet reserved type. But I bet they’re all sweethearts. You can tell that they love each other like brothers. I’ve seen some interviews with Brian and Roger just after Freddie’s passing and you can see how much sorrow is in their hearts. And only speaking highly of their dear friend. Not that it would’ve been likely anyways, but it really bums me out that I will never have a chance to meet Freddie . I’m 45 years old now and that was the age when he passed. Even though I know he would be 73, i believe, now In my head he still 45. And totally sexy!
