Here's a an early morning view of the SUPERMOON that was spotted in India today around 5:30 am.
Since yesterday night I was very excited about the rare SUPERMOON and couldn't sleep, I kept waiting while I was switching places to get hold of this beautiful SUPERMOON and finally around 5:30 the rare event occurred.
I had my camera and tripod in place and without wasting even a second I started to capture it .
The level of satisfaction after capturing this mesmerizing scenario - it was out of this world.
Here's a little about the SUPERMOON and it's occurence
In a celestial spectacle that has sky gazers buzzing with excitement, a rare blue supermoon is like a dream come true.
A supermoon occurs when the moon's orbit brings it exceptionally close to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter than usual. Super Moon is actually the full phase of the Moon which appears when the Moon is at perigee, that is the closest point to Earth, at an average distance of 3,60,000 kilometers.
WHY IS IT CALLED BLUE SUPERMOON?
The term "blue moon" doesn't refer to the moon's colour but signifies the occurrence of a second full moon within a single month. This phenomenon is relatively infrequent, happening only about every two or three years.
However, a blue supermoon, which combines these two phenomena, is even rarer. The last blue supermoon was in December 2009, and the next one won't be until January 2037, according to Nasa.

It's also a beautiful coincidence that it occurred on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan.
