Promotional release of a beloved classic among hardcore Italian prog and psych fans. Extremely rare and sought-after!
A little info, for those interested:
Mondo Malato / Non Era Un Sogno is the first record by singer-songwriter Roberto Righini, former member of the Roman beat duo "I Girasoli". Published in January 1971, it was not a commercial success and it was not until recently (around 20 years ago) that collectors began to rediscover it. These are both antiwar songs, with unusually strong lyrics and instrumentals for the time. There are rumours about Mondo Malato originally being a full album, with these two tracks being mere excerpts. Take it with a grain of salt, of course, but if that were true, it would be very interesting to hear (although the tapes would likely be long gone).
I acquired this record on March 31st for the tidy sum of €450! Really had to have this one. It's also the much rarer promo version (it wasn't even catalogued on Discogs until I added it!)
The main difference between this and the final release is that this one lacks the sampled speech at the end of Mondo Malato. Also, it is a bit faster compared to other uploads, however my turntable is playing at the correct speed: you're hearing the record exactly as it was cut. So either the final release was cut differently or the other rips are done at the wrong speed. I guess we'll find out, eventually.
