Revealing work, this blasting. I wonder how happy your neighbours are with the outdoor blasting nearby. Do you also inspect the inside of longitudinal beams when you start a project or do you discover possible misery during the restoration? I am so jealous that you have all this skills: mechanical, sheet-metal work, spraying, working together with your dad/son, editing..... Keep up the good work!

Removing all the sound deadening and underseal is an absolute pig of a job, and I admire your patience. Good to see you getting a coat of primer on straight after blasting as flash rust strikes so quickly on freshly blasted steel. Looking forward to the next update on the Mazda. Best wishes.

When its all stripped down and you get the first coat of paint on (even if its shows the issues) its basically the first step to rebuilding so a big step forward Good job getting all that crud off and the blaster did a great job.

Great, I have put the comment on sandblasting before welding some time ago on Roger’s E30 … nice to follow this project having an identical E30 Baur 323i 1984 in project restoration 😊, it’s surprising to see the same the same spots need to tackle over and over again at these E30’s

Overall its looks like its in pretty good shape unlike some of the 'nightmares' you've worked on. No huffing and puffing on this one so far 😅

You need too get so e dry ice for the sound deadening. Lay it on top give it a few mins and it just pops off job done

Ryan you could have used dry ice to make your life easier in removing those factory sound deadening.

In one of the last video’s, Ryan explained that the Matt Armstrong BMW was going to a secret location. I think the secrecy is part of the reason why we’re not seeing any updates.

Great video as usual! Any reason this wasn’t done for Colin’s car also? Seems like a much more efficient way of restoration.

Check out My Mechanics restoration of a datsun 240Z. He used dry ice to freeze the anti drumming panels so they chipped off easier

I miss seeing the Datsun and Cosmo too, also Mats BMW has not been on for a few weeks

Is the double layer of sound deadening common to the other E30s you've been working on? I'm wondering if it is needed on the chopped version. As I understand it this will have started life as a standard E30 shell and been chopped and reinforced to become a cabriolet. I had a Porsche 944S2 cabriolet which had been given similar treatment.

Was suprised to see the blasting outside in the elements. 1. What if its raining/poor weather 2. Wont it blow everywhere 3. Id of thought youd of collected it & reused it

protip for sounddeadening: get dry ice (or ice spray), put it on, wait 5 min, smash with a hammer once. done.

Many parts of the world, including the UK, dry Ice is hard to come by.

@@idrisddraig2 thats where the ice spray comes in. And since basically everywhere in the EU you can get 10kgs of dry ice (which is enough for 10 cars full of sound deadening tbh) for the price of a tank of gas... Well lets just assume Brexit wasnt the best of ideas?
