Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, is *insanely good*. The things he can pull off is mind boggling. There's examples of him performing live, check them out! And please do more Home Free! Just pick a song, any song, they're all awesome. Some of their videos are hilarious, too.

Home Free does covers and LOTS of originals. They do so many genres, country. Rock, R & B, patriotic, love ballads, gospel, opera (Rob and Austin) OUT OF THiS WORLD Christmas...300 + videos. Ya'll really need to do Butts Medley. It is pure magic. 😂😂

This is a great choice for newcomers to Home Free! The arrangement defies belief until you get to know the diverse skills and talents of each member of this group! The Doobie Bros. recorded it with 2 real drum sets, at least 2 guitars, and a keyboard. HF translated the instrumentation to 1 beatboxer, 3 other background vocals, and 1 tenor leading. No instruments. The diversity also applies to the range of genres they can do up right, including opera and a wide range of originals! Keep following them -- you will be constantly surprised.

Heck, the video I saw of the Doobie Brothers doing this, there were 4 singers all playing guitars, PLUS two percussionists. And Home Free managed to fill all that sound in. It's probably layered, and you can hear some really neat filtering (probably by the 6th Home Free member - Darren Rust), but these guys are awesome.

Home Free uses a looper for some of the background sounds. Austin, high tenor/lead, does great synthesizer sounds as well as Adam, beatboxer, the bass guitar was the incredible Tim Foust, HF bass. Yes, it's all vocal. Hope to see more reactions with Home Free. p.s. When Home Free uses a looper they tell you, in their live shows they record background on looper in front of the audience.

These guys are the real deal! Their versatility will amaze you. The individual talent of each member is out of this world! When I stumbled onto Austin, as most of them have their own individual solo channels or side projects as well. I was impressed by Austin, which led me to Home Free, and I immediately became a Home Fry! For a look at their versatility, try End of the Road, Boyz to Men, or When a Man loves a Woman. You'll have to listen to a solo from the beat boxer, Adam, to realize just how special he is and to end your skepticism as well. 😀 Dive a little deeper into them, and you won't be sorry! Plus you"ll grow your channel just by the number of fans (Home Fries) that follow them. Well, that's my 2 cents. You guys rock!

I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds.

Home Free is amazing. The number one A cappella group for me. This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam Rupp who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is.

They have original songs too, I think The Butts Remix would have y'all rolling. Adam Rupp has a couple drum solo videos because nobody believes he does what he does....he literally sounds like a freaky drum kit. It's nuts. Austin is a Georgia boy (brown shirt no hat), that's gotta count in his favor, right? ;) Tim has blown sound systems because his lowest bass notes are wild and when Tim is taking lead like he did on Brothers In Arms, Adam Chance (backward hat, short beard) takes over bass, and Rob (long beard) can do some mean southern gospel along with other genres. One other..... a cover of Johnny Cash's Ring Of Fire with Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix)! They are truly fun to watch. VoicePlay (another acapella group) does an awesome cover of Valhalla Calling

Home Free does various genres. They do covers, but also have their own music. Austin (lead singer on this song) and Tim (bass) are awesome songwriters. It is all acapella, and their fantastic beatboxer is Adam Rupp (cofounder of Home Free, along with his brother Chris). The guys all do some beatboxing, such as Austin does the nomonica along with Adam during live performances, and Chance does the mouth harp (as heard in the video Man of Constant Sorrow). Members are: Austin Brown (high tenor from Georgia), Rob Lunquist (glasses, tenor, from Minnesota), Tim Foust (bass with a 5 octave range from Texas), Adam Chance (baritone, but sings bass when Tim does lead, goes by Chance, from Alabama), and Adam Rupp (beatboxer, but can sing tenor, from Minnesota). Chris Rupp (cofounder, baritone but can sing bass and tenor from Minnesota, left the group in 2016, and replaced by Chance).

This is one of my favorites. Loved the original 50 years ago, love this one now. They do lots of originals, too. One of their recent ones is Playing With Fire. Or their Stargazer Trilogy - 3 love songs co-written by Austin Brown, their high tenor. Adam Rupp, the percussionist is absolutely the best. There are quite a few videos out there of his solo from their concerts. I highly recommend them. I too can't believe that Pentatonix won a Grammy and Home Free hasn't. Where do I sign the petition?

I read somewhere that they changed the sound of the beatboxing (and some of the vocals) by filtering out some of the frequencies. The same person said Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, made a filter for his mike to get the same effect in live performances. I don't know if it's true, but it sounds plausible. Adam can make freakishly accurate drum sounds and the filters wouldn't work without that.

Home Free doesn't have 'a' genre. They do everything. Literally the only thing I can think of that they haven't done is metal. 2 of them even did opera. Hard country, pop, rock, R&B, oldies, sacred, comedic....183 videos and counting as of today. Home Free started out doing lots of covers, but they have had originals on every album except Sounds of Lockdown and their newest which is revisiting the songs they did on the Sing Off. And most of their originals were written by one or another of the members. Mind you, they absolutely kill the covers they do. (It is PTX that has the girl and the black guy) And they still do covers, even if they don't put them on their albums. PTX wins Grammys when HF doesn't for a variety of reasons - go look at the requirements for even being nominated. HF is truly under appreciated, so thank you for spreading the news about them.

There's an older one from about 8 years ago that has a ton of views, but instead I'd say check out one of his more recent solos from a concert video. His solo is now in two sections -- one part where he uses a looper to make an entire song just from his mouth, and a second part where he just goes nuclear showing off his beatbox and SFX skills.

The world's 1st and only ALL VOCAL Country Group! If ANY instruments are used, they are clearly shown --- and if you continue down this road, you'll see and learn that with Home Free, their performance isn't changed by the instrumentation by others. I've seen 'em LIVE from intrigue and verification ... and Yep, there's absolutely no way to "fake" what they do LIVE!!!!! Yes -- they have studio and it's so damn good ---- But what they do LIVE... EVEN BETTER!!! These guys perform what is produced!!! No other group can DO COUNTRY and have that "sound", do it so well --(many times better than the origianal btw!) and next do a different genre and sound just as good (better than the original). These Gents are down to earth and have unmatched talents. : ) Be Safe

Adam Rupp, the beatboxer/vocal percussionist extraordinaire, is a former world champion at his craft. But he's only gotten much better as time goes by.

The other two top a cappella groups -- at least the ones I listen to -- are VoicePlay (very Disney and movie oriented, know as the Theater Kids of a cappella) and The Bass Gang (4 guys, all bass voices), with the solo artist Peter Hollens (who also does duets with his wife) thrown in. Many of them have worked with each other, either appearing in videos together to some degree or one doing the arrangement for another group's video. Two examples are Tim Foust (Home Free) joining The Bass Gang for Hooked On a Feeling and Rob Lundquist (HF wearing glasses) appearing in VoicePlay's ACA Top Ten Movie Themes. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by Peter Hollens ft. Home Free is a very special and beautiful one that should not be missed. (Note: Please please please, for all of these groups' videos keep listening until the very end of the patterns list. So many of their videos have special messages, either thank you's, insights on the making of, or wonderful outtakes.)

They also do soul (When A Man Loves A Woman), some Ed Sheeran (Castle On The Hill), patriotic (God Bless The USA), more old rock (American Pie), sailor's songs (Sea Shanty Medley, Skull And Bones), Dire Straits (Brothers In Arms), more 70s folk/rock (Delta Dawn, Country Roads), old school country (Crazy), modern country (Ain't Goin' Down), light rock/country (Mayday) and lots of Christmas music.

They do it all. From opera, to Boy to Men’s “End of the Road”, to “Folsom Prison Blue” by Johny Cash, “Life is a Highway”, and the Butt Medley (consisting it all including hip hop). And they do some country too. 😬

It is my understanding that Home Free bought out the recording contract they won on the show and went independent. Some of those awards only nominate based on record label sales etc. with no label they aren’t eligible for nomination for some of these awards. Yes, our boys have established themselves ON THEIR OWN. So proud of them! Enjoy the rabbit hole!

It is a cappella. They use a loop to record sounds, but if you want to listen to the beat boxer, he has a “drum solo” available on You Tube.

there are several live concert videos with adam rupp doing his own solo set and you can see just what he really is capable of that way. I would suggest finding one a several years old and one of his newest ones to compare because in the newer ones he has encorporated a looper but the older ones are all him alone.
