In This River was a tribute to Dimebag Darrell Abbott. Part of why this song sounds like Ozzy is because it IS Ozzy, he sings the chorus along with Zakk on this track. And to answer your question, Zakk Wylde was only 19 years old when Ozzy recruited him. 🤘

Actually, In This River was written before Dime’s death. Zakk dedicated it to him after.

BLS is seriously underrated. Zakk Wylde is insanely talented. He’s a fantastic guitarist and his voice is a mix of Ozzy and Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) to me. It’s interesting and addicting as hell to listen to. Their live shows are awesome too. If you get the chance, definitely go!! Great reaction like always. You guys are a lot of fun to watch!!🖤🤘

My favorite Zakk song is called "Sold My Soul," from his album "Book of Shadows." Be sure to check out the band Pride and Glory as well...it was the first band Zakk formed after Ozzy. God bless!!

For BLS stuff, I strongly suggest "Life, Birth, Blood, Doom" from 1919 Eternal. If it had come out a few years earlier, it would have been a fantastic Biker Undertaker theme song lol

@@Hollywood6IX oh yeah, pretty crazy, they stole a deer skull from Dirty Nelly's restaurant and threw chairs off the balcony into the SA river and had to go get them 😂 and had a bath tub full of beer. The deer skull ended up on a mic stand the next day. Partying like rockstars🤘

Ah BLS. I used to put Hangover Music Vol. VI on repeat and go to sleep every night. I still enjoy their cover of Whiter Shade of Pale.

Best BLS album for me, Dead Meadow is a classic. Zakk will never beat what he did in ‘94 with Pride and Glory. That album will never leave my all time top ten. Absolute 🔥 🤘🤘🤘🤘

Ozzy has always hired the best guitarists out there starting with Randy Rhodes! The drumming in this song is just sick!

This was a duet with Ozzy, so you did hear Ozzy too. Zakk does have an acoustic version of this, which I actually prefer over this original album version.

I can answer all your questions about Zakk Wylde haha he joined Ozzy in 1987 at 19, wrote a pretty solid album called "No Rest for the Wicked", but it wasn't until 1991 with Ozzy's "No More Tears" album where Zakk truly shines! Some of the songs on No More Tears can rival older Ozzy classics. An all-time classic album. Speaking of Motorhead, you guys have GREAT ears! The songs "Mama I'm Coming Home", "I Don't Want To Change The World", "Desire", and "Hellraiser" were co-written by Lemmy. Then Zakk started a few side projects, including Pride & Glory, which is a Southern Rock band that is super cool. Then in 1998, he released the first Black Label Society album. All BLS albums are solid, but by-far their most commercially successful was "The Blessed Hellride" in 2003, which the song Stillborn is on. They are still going strong and touring. Zakk Wylde is playing guitar in the upcoming Pantera Tribute tour with Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown. I've had the opportunity to meet Zakk a couple times, and he is seriously so humble and nice to his fans!! Long story short, Zakk is a guitar legend :) Edit: Oh, also the song "In This River" is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. They were legit BFFs. Hence why Zakk is playing guitar in the Pantera Tribute/Reunion tour in 2023 :)

Other songs to check out from BLS are Fire it Up, Suicide Messiah, 13Years of Grief, Counterfeit God, also Hall of fame catcher Mike Piazza who is Godfather to Zakk’s eldest son Hendrix did the “screams of doom” on the title track from the album Stronger Than Death released in 2000

another favorite of mine by BLS is called "Counterfeit God", it's along similar lines as Ozzy's "Miracle Man".

You have to listen to Zakk Sabbath. He sounds like Ozzy for sure. The River song was for Dime. 1919 Eternal is a great album. Great reaction as always. New Megadeth hint hint lol.

Zakk Sabbath has my favorite Bass player, Blasko from Cryptic Slaughter, my favorite Thrash is band, Drown, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy.

Everyone is sleeping on BLS. The only reactions out there are this song and “In this River”. Gotta do Suicide Messiah, Funeral Bell, Suffering Overdue, Destruction Overdrive, Spread your wing, Been a long time, Fire it up……to name a few. Ozzy was actual a guest backing vocal on this song. He sings with Zakk on the "SO LONG" part. Zakk does have some of Ozzy's tendencies while singing. However, I think for many people this was the first song they heard from Black Label Society and they don't know Ozzy is actual on the track making Zakk sound more Ozzy like than normal.
