I agree with what you said. Kendrick friends are many of the guys he grew up with in Compton. Many work for him today, he has never lost his connection to the streets. People misunderstand Kendrick because he moves quietly, but he is has tough as nails.He reps the entire West coast and the OG’s with respect.

I’m not the biggest Drake just because he’s so mainstream and pretty much we all grew up with him as a household name. He’s great! But Kendrick Lamar to me is a true genius and all around ARTIST. He connects to my roots on black issues. They are just different artists in their own lanes.

Kendrick is officially an OG in the game
I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with what I'm about to say, but Kendrick is on that level that Prince was on. Prince (back in the 80s and 90s) wasn't getting the credit that deserves. Even when he did purple rain, people were dancing to his music, but they wasnt listen to the story he was telling in his music until the end of purple rain. As for Kendrick, he has been spitting life stories and poetry from day one. It's sad that many couldn't relate until now. Kendrick wants us to feel the story as he tells through his music. Greatness come few in a lifetime time. WELCOME LIFETIME ❤🎉

Not only did Meg nail it with how Kendrick mixes poetry with turn-up energy, she also set him and Metro up with HISS. That “BBLs/same scars” line was the first callout I’ve heard suggesting Drake got surgery, and both Kendrick and Metro doubled down. Kendrick is friendly with Megan- I wouldn’t be surprised if they collab someday.

i really hope @kendricklamar is watching these compilation clips because its one thing to know it and have them tell you to your face but to see ALL THE LOVE COMPILED ...sheeeet this ish touched me a lil tough, so i know he'd appreciate this from his peers so much cause real kendrick "FAMILY"/fans know how much he loves his craft and respects hip hop RAP artists and the culture as a staple in human history. Pac, Nip, X, Mac, A LOT OF artists didnt get to smell their flowers at mid let alone full bloom, ...i think the only artists who did off top were Mike, Aretha, Prince, Whitney, Elvis, and out of all of 'em mike probably wanted less chylll🤣
@haniyyahn
12 күн бұрын
I would think he probably needs balance and humility at this point. Kendrick is an amazing artist, however on a human, personal level, beyond a certain level of acclaim what you need is not to let the head get too big and to be able to be and stay grounded. Plus, we see his intensity and again on a personal level someone that hyperfocused needs space to come out of it or they can burn out.
@quicebleu287
12 күн бұрын
@@haniyyahn he appears in tthe spotlight once every three to four years and stays off of social media, i think its okay to receive your flowers in one compilation video. i can tell you dont look into kendrick much because the possibility of him becoming what your describing is extremely low but OF COURSE ANYTHING is possible as long as miracles exist. But erm he's not one of them, and "they not like us" - but go study his lyrics, you may be pleasantly surprised
@haniyyahn
12 күн бұрын
@@quicebleu287 I've seen a bunch of Kendrick interviews (as I am quite interested in him and his music) where he talked about how those aspects of being famous and having money were/are extremely hard for him to navigate -- not because he doesn't have values but because this stuff tests people. The fact that he is introspective is great -- it also can make some of that stuff harder. That to me, is why we see him pop out every few years with his music and then retreat. The praise around this beef is the most he has every experienced. Literally millions of people are talking about him and praising him. That is a lot for anyone. Ultimately, neither of us know him personally, I think, and it is what it is as far as where he'll be mentally with all of this. I am happy for him that his talents are getting wider recognition and I'm definitely wishing him well.

@@haniyyahn well im going off of what i have seen so far and he's been doing well so far and its been over 10 years. He's always been regarded in the same if not higher light than drake within the culture and hip hop from an artistry viewpoint. anything can change as you said time will tell especially with this level of hype (not attention he's always had that globally) and new opportunities to capitalise from it, he STILL chooses to spread awareness and put his culture up Hip Hop has been falling behind in the music industry lately but always stayed top 10, the focus is back so we'll see what he does this summer.
