As an extra, the "dark hour" or "witching hour" is when demons and bad stuff is at it's strongest in stories and stuff. (Ah, you mentioned it) This is DD at her lowest point in the EP mentally (since the album is a trip emotionally), so her demons are winning at this late hour. One of those bad nights where the worst of your thoughts get to you. It's why I think "Fake Ass Gold" is so important. It's the "get up and brush yourself off" after a just terrible night

I think the line about being stuck at 3 is calling back to her earlier line about "check the clock 2, now 3" and how time is stuck now instead of passing by without notice.
