Scott the tall guy with the great hair. Mitch the falsetto will change his style every video. Kevin is the beatboxer with an amazing singing voice. Kristin is another style changer..and beautiful singer. Avi who's no longer with the group was the bass and helped with beatboxing. Now Matt has taken Avi's place. You'll hear Matt the best in Sound of Silence and Amazing Grace.

I would strongly recommend that you react to Bohemian Rhapsody next. However, if you want one of their original songs, try "Love Again" but PLEASE, try it with headphones! You're missing at least 50% of the thrill, plus your viewers (us ;) ) will probably hear the songs better too! Keep up the nice reactions, and welcome to the Pentaholics family!

Definitely try your next Pentatonix reaction with headphones. There’s so much going on between the singing, the beatboxing, & the bass that regular speakers just don’t catch it all. Their original song “Sing” will definitely get you moving! I think you will REALLY love that one!

Run To You Run To You Run To You They spoke about the song in the dialogue at the end. Not only their best vocal performance, it’s my favorite song of all time. No percussion. No lead vocalist. Just perfect five-part harmony and lyrics that will break your heart in the most beautiful way. Insider tip: the ash falling in the video moves upward during the chorus. They all learned to mouth the chorus backwards to achieve the beautiful, meaningful effect.

You need headphones! Trust us when we say that! You are missing more than you are hearing. PTX does a lot of panning vocals for effect. Check out Bohemian Rhapsody, Hallelujah, Can't Sleep Love, Love Again....... pretty much everything they do is spectacular. The base is Avi Kaplan trained as Basso Profundo has a 5 octave range, every member has incredible range.

Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Pentatonix. Speakers are great, but the nuances in the voices are way better with headphones. This video won them a grammy. It was filmed in Avi and Kevin's apartment. Suggestions: Sing, Bohemian Rhapsody, Hallelujah...so many good ones. They all help with the sounds sometimes but Kevin, the beatboxer with the goggles in this video does most of them.

To be upfront... by “reacting” to PTX.... you have entered an entire culture and environment that is also populated by people known as Pentaholics.... this group of people are truly a phenomena.... incredible support and know more about each person in this performance group . By the way when they mention using a good set of head phones.... you’ll want to try some! The reality is there is so much going on and so many levels that its far too easy to miss.... and well worth finding these levels of their music. 7 years... this might offer some indication of what these people and their followers have been up to........ if you decide to... there is so much going on with PTX the journey offers much more than music and performance. You might look up Home Free also..... this group of guys, also acapella, are incredible!

Pentatonix won the sing off in 2013. 1 of the prizes was a recording contract. The 3 singers Scott, Mitch, Kirsty all moved out to la from Texas and then the Recording label drop them. So they started to film their own videos and post them on KZread. From there it just steamrolled. This video was sait's hot on a $400 budget, recorded in a closet and filmed in the kitchen and it won them their 1st of 3 Grammy's. Scott the gentleman with the white hair is the baritone. Mitch the gentleman who started The song Is a countertenor. Kirsty is a mezzo. Kevin Who was in the visor Is there beat boxer. He also plays cello in some of the videos and will sing but not very often. Avi is the gentleman With the beard and mustache and he is a basso profundo. That is the lowest you Can go and he has blown out speakers. When avi is singing then Scott takes over the bass. Mitch and Scott have their own side project called superfruit And Their videos, both musical and fun, are very good. Check out rise. Avi left in 2017, on good terms, And went on to have a solo career. Check out Change on the rise. Kevin is so talented it should be illegal. He is a beast when it comes to beatboxing. Check out his cover of down by Marion hill. Pentatonix never does a song in studio that they cannot reproduce live. All music reactors regardless of their speaker quality needs to be wearing headphones. It adds to your legitimacy and you definitely need it with Pentatonix. Check out There cover of hallelujah, bohemian rhapsody, and imagine really shows off there harmonies as does Mary did you know.

Pentatonix has had only one change in the members. The original bass was Avi (dark hair and beard in this video). He left the group in 2017. Then Matt joined the group (the black singer in Sound of Silence). They all contribute to vocal effects, but most of it is Kevin (beatboxer). He is a very good singer too, but doesn't often take the lead. Scott is the tall one, baritone lead. Mitch has the high voice, tenor lead. His appearance changes frequently. Kirstie also changes her appearance, hair and makeup. They both can be hard to recognize from one video to the next. The group has been active since 2011, so they all changed as they matured too.

The female is the same throughout their history. They only have one member to change. That is the bass. In this video he is the bearded, shirtless man with cornrows (Avi Kaplan). In more recent videos, Matt Sallee is the new bass. He is African American and tall and lean. Everyone else is the same from the start. Kirsti and Mitch (high voiced, dark haired male) change their looks often. Very often. And they can pull off any look that strikes their fancy. Scott (blond baritone, white hair in this vid) looks pretty much the same except that he has aged slightly in their 10 year tenure. Kevin (beatboxer, tenor) also looks exactly the same. I don’t even think he looks like he’s aged at all. It’s insane. Also, you aren’t the only one who thought this was a masterpiece, they won a grammy for this one. And show your friends no matter how many likes you get! Everyone should be exposed to this amazing musical talent.

You still need earphones - especially when you do Bohemian Rhapsody. They work hard to play with your ears by moving the sounds around you and you lose some of that even with stereo speakers. On another note, if you see them perform this live, you'll see that all those "skip" and "bend/waver" effects are actually sung and not done electronically.

When you can remember all their names, I will consider you a Pentaholic. I will subscribe if/when you check out their beginnings, which is when they were on an A Capella singing competition called the Sing Off. This is literally when Pentatonix started. Also another great super vibing song from PTX is Sing.

There are any number of songs that Pentatonix has for you to react to. The woman's name is Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty) but so many people call her Kirstin or Kristin now I think she has changed her name. And yes, it is the same female throughout all their songs. I always think reactors should do more of their original songs (Sing, Run to You, Love Again, Thank You) but do what you like. Their most popular song will get the most views. A Capella seems to always get a large number of views for reactors. And Pentatonix isn't the only A Capella either. Voctive, Home Free, Voice Play, will get you a lot of views too. Have fun with it.

Her name is Kirstin, not Kristin. She released her solo album under Kirstin TM. The TM stands for Taylor Maldonado, her full legal name, but it could also represent trademark. People still call her Kirstie; that is her nickname.

@@sarahliles3306 Watching the group videos where they talk and give interviews, she is called Kirstie by the group. If it is a nickname she has had since a very young age, then I may be wrong.

@@hardtackbeans9790 You're definitely correct. She goes by both Kirstie and Kirstin. I was just letting the reactor know she doesn't go by Kristin, which you mentioned in the first comment. But autocorrect might have mistakenly corrected you when you typed your first comment. It's tried to do that to me, too, at times.

For the full affect of their abilities, you need headphones .. any song the do is great but 'Love Again' is similar to Daft Punk and is an original of theirs .

Get your friends together and have a Pentatonix binge party! There are SO many amazing songs. My suggestions would be a repeat of what others have said. I suggest at least bohemian rhapsody and Mary did you know. But you really can’t go wrong with any of them. You asked about the members and they have been a group of 5 for years but the bass originally was Avi (who is in this one). When you watched the sound of silence the bass was the “new” guy, Matt. But everyone else is original. Kirstin, Scott (tall blond), and Mitch (shorter dark haired with very high voice) are the original members who started their group together in high school. When they decided to make a go at going professional they added a percussionist (Kevin) and the original bass, Avi. Those were the 5 who made a global name for themselves when they entered the a cappella tv competition called the sing off. Spoiler 🚨, they won the competition and started touring professionally after that. Avi left the group and joined another famous a cappella group called Home Free and Matt was brought in to fill that spot. I’m aware that you can get all that information online but you asked about them so there you are.

Great reaction! I would suggest you react to Pentatonix' cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and their original song, "Love Again". Then, you should listen to their cover of "Hallelujah". I think you will continue to be impressed by them. Keep up the great reactions. Thanks!

The quality of the speaker is key to hearing everything. I have no idea if you have a good speaker. But try with headphones on your own and decide if you’re getting the full experience! Love that you’re taking the advice of the pentaholics. :) i always forget that i’m listen to just voices. It’s the mark of a fantastic a cappella group that you forget there are no instruments.

Headphones FOR SURE, especially this song! All Acapella meaning no instruments other than voice! I believe your musician friends would love this group!!! also recommend "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Hallelujah" When listening reminder they are all only using their voices, beat boxing etc. Welcome to the world of PTX

Please please listen to your next Pentatonix video with headphones. It's not just about the bass. The separation and clarity will bring their voices to life. They will bounce around inside your head and give you an entirely different experience. This is my first visit to your channel and I will subscribe and like.

I agree with many of the commenters hear headphones are essential. External speakers just really can’t handle the subtleties of the human voice and you really are missing the richness of the bass notes. It’s just nothing like electronically produced instrumental music that you’re used to.
