I played pro baseball when I was younger. I washed out in the low minors like most guys do, but I can tell you that the reason most pitchers can't hit their weight is because the skill sets for pitchers and hitters are completely different and take a lot of time and effort to master (hitters also tend to be terrible pitchers). I'm not sure that most fans realize what an incredible accomplishment it is to be a two way player in the major leagues. Ohtani is just an incredible talent.

Pipe dream but I hope Atlanta shatters their farm and their luxury tax to obtain and sign him. Anderson, Soroka, Fried, and I'd throw in Ozuna AND pay for 50% of the contract, plus a top hitting prospect, whoever they want. Ohtani's 15 wins with the Angels meant other strong teams won 18-19. Ohtani is also a player who can hit 40 homers and steal bases. The 2022 MVP is Aaron, but I personally think Ohtani is the top. The angels had the 9th best staff ERA in the MLB last year. And a bottom 5 offense. Degrom showed it last year? He completely choked down the stretch. It was basically all his starts because he doesn’t pitch a lot anymore.
Love seeing JRam in the top 10. What I'd love more is to see him over Machado. It will happen next year.
Top 30 Lineups would be a cool video.
They screwed Ohtani last year. Give the man his flowers. He's doing two things together that nobody has done in 100 years of baseball and they want him to do both of them better than anybody to win MVP? Judge was great and yes, the homerun record chase doesn't come that often but they hyped that whole thing up in my opinion.
I never thought the day would come where Marc put trout lower than #1
I just wish that Ohtani is at least 5 years younger so we can see him be an elite two-way player for way more years. He's already about to be 29 and I can see him being able to be an elite two-way player on both sides for 5-6 years max. Hope he can prove us all wrong and at least be able to be an elite two-way player for at least a decade more. He's the reason I started watching baseball for real about two years ago now.
