    I think the worst thing about the Obi-Wan vs Anakin Boss Battle for me was one piece of possible dialogue. While I loved Obi-Wan's attempt to turn Anakin back, Anakin will possibly mention an important film character that was not previously seen or mentioned at any point during the level briefings or gameplay. In Conclusion: "You turned Padme against me!" "...Who's Padme?"

    Revenge of the Sith is my absolute favorite Star Wars dueling game ever. No game comes close. My only gripe is Grievous rarely lets up and forces you to block 90% of the time. There’s never a good time to counter, unless you’re willing to trade hits. Mace Windu has a similar problem but he’s also vulnerable to combo stuns just like you are. Ironically, Serra and Cin are pretty fair and my favorite overall boss.

    Great video, Jack! Wow, this game is a throwback for me! I remember getting this game on PS2 back in '05, coming off the hype of seeing the movie three times in theaters, and I had a lot of fun with it at the time. It's probably been 15 or 16 years since I played it (didn't hold onto my copy for whatever reason), but I do remember beating the game and having a lot of fun with the Dueling Mode (or whatever it's called). Mace Windu probably gave me the toughest challenge at the time, and I think I only managed to beat him because he got caught in a glitchy loop where he started running into the wall. That gave me enough time to fully heal up. It was certainly a cheesy tactic, but I was tired of getting curb-stomped by him. Also, I was only a 5th grader, so I wasn't as skilled at gaming. Seeing this footage definitely brings back memories, though. Since you mentioned the KotoR remake, I was curious if you ever played the original KotoR. If not, then I highly suggest playing the remake when it comes out (assuming they do it justice). KotoR is easily my favorite Star Wars game of all time, as well as one of my favorite 6th generation games. It was my introduction to Bioware and got me hooked on their games. While I do prefer Mass Effect 2 (my second favorite Bioware game) and especially Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (my absolute favorite Bioware game by miles), KotoR is still an excellent Western RPG. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!

    Hey man, Jack here and first of all, thanks for watching! Alex and I just this past weekend spent hours on the Dueling Arena, and it was fantastic. This game's combat is exceptionally deep, and the levels (while sometimes maybe *too* long) were enjoyable, to say the least. I agree that Mace is hard, probably second to Obi-Wan from mission 17 personally. I have played through the first hour and a half to two hours of KotoR, and I just didn't find it that great due to the turn-based combat and the overwhelming amount of things to do, say, and choose from, but I loved the story and one day I'll give it a fair playthrough. Thanks for watching!

  • @rpgfan1187

    @rpgfan1187

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Cytonox Yeah, KotoR would definitely be harder to get into if you're not a fan of turn-based RPGs. It's certainly a more story-focused, slower paced game than the other Star Wars titles you talked about, and it takes a lot longer to get going. The turn-based combat can demand quite a bit of strategy at times, but that format doesn't give you the high-octane battles of more action-packed games. Bioware games tend to place heavy emphasis on player choice, offering multiple ways to approach each situation or complete objectives, and the morality is not always very cut-and-dry. The Baldur's Gate games -- which are even older Bioware titles -- are more hard-core versions of that formula. Your potential party-members all have their own D&D-based alignment, which elicits various responses to your actions. Also, if you go too far towards the heroic side of the morality scale, evil-aligned characters will leave your party. Conversely, if you go too far towards the villainous side, good-aligned characters will leave your party. To complicate things further, party members can even clash with each other over ideological differences or if they've had a rocky past history, even forcing you to side with the one you want to keep in your party. To top it all off, these games are significantly tougher than Bioware's later games, even making FromSoftware's titles look like cake-walks in comparison (I'm not even joking). If KotoR's not your thing, I'd steer clear of Baldur's Gate, as it would probably be a nightmare for you. If you prefer Action RPGs, I'd recommend Nier: Automata if you haven't played that game. It's a 2017 game developed by PlatinumGames, bearing a combat system and epic bosses similar to those of their other games like Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and it's paired with a thought-provoking story, excellent setting, and interesting characters. From the sound of it, that might be more up your alley if you're looking for a great RPG.

Occurred to us that we could start a youtube channel and had no reason not to since it was a dream of ours as kid. We just kept at it and it’s sorta working, which is awesome. And if you’re wondering, we will cover Ocarina of Time sometime in the future for sure, surprisingly I don’t think my rankings have changed much with time actually -Alex

    There was no Battle of Heroes or Anakin's dark deeds in the game because the game came out one month prior to the movie so the soundtrack wasn't officially released. Its the same reason why the original Lego Star Wars game only used Original Trilogy music for the Revenge of the Sith segment, which got later updated in Complete Saga

    i guess so, i meant more in a dialogue sense. it was written based on as you said, the original screenplay, so there’s minimal dialogue overlap between novel and film. sort of a stretch to say it’s more true to the movie than the movie but fair in some regards i guess

    I think the only reason they kept from being 1 per 1 the movie is to avoid copying the movie, even king kong as an amazing game as it is is no where near close to represent the movie which makes sense. Games are still limited in some ways even then like enemy variety and limiting appearances from everything from the film which includes spoilers.

    the reason this game is so different (and why the novel is as well) is both were made during filming and used original scripts/filming of the 4:30 hr. long movie. dooku’s fight, grievous, all of the major fights besides anakin and obi-wan were trimmed severely in the final cut of the movie
