It usually tanks for me, since in too many cases it's a "fantasy amnesia" that works nothing like actual amnesia. And even in fantasy settings, it's often attributed to head trauma but doesn't work like it. I can believe in dragons but not in the "hit your head again to undo" amnesia.

About the friend group where everyone's dated each other... I think it's realistic to a certain point, like my friend group has a lot of people who used to date, or crush on, or be attracted by each other (and most of us have at least kissed at some point). But we're pretty queer, and also mostly chill about it, it doesn't involve half of all the drama in these shows. Also it's pretty well known that in lesbian circles everyone has dated everyone else, it's common for lesbins to introduce their exes to each other (in portuguese we call that rebuceteio). So I'm conflicted about it; maybe i think the opposite of what you said actually, that if it was portrayed as more normal, and if it was done more maturely (with less misunderstandings and more respect between people) it could be cool. Also more queer people doing it because that's where this actually happens i feel like. ...even if this kinda contrdicts one of my other beliefs, that they should let more friends stay platonic, and not pair up everyone by the end. But that also bothers me mostly when it's a men and a woman that suddenly fall in love for no reason, so maybe the solution is still to queer it up lol

Heavy on the femme fatale trope, love a gaslight gatekeep girlboss, but no one seems to know how to write it properly which is incredibly annoying, especially in the marvel universe, the weird over sexualisation of Natasha was so??? Like the girl has such an interesting storyline but for 10+ years marvel just did absolutely nothing with it and then decided to do something with it AFTER she died was such a bullshit way to go about it, it’s also the fact that the movie isn’t even really centred on Natasha aswell it’s so heavily focused on the other characters around her, not to mention the poorly done writing about her “dad” and how she and yelena just forgave him pretty quickly about what he did to them, like wtf???
