The worst part about the UCS Hulkbuster set is that you can literally just touch it and 5 pieces fall off, and there's so many pieces that ypu have absolutely no idea where they all go. literally just lifted my hulkbuster up to move it and like 50 pieces came off and I was just like, "oh well looks like there never going back on."

Dang that’s unfortunate. It is really fragile, which is a shame, all they needed to do was add more pieces!

The 4+ sets deserve some slack. They were pretty good for what they were and the builds and mini-figures are the ones I liked.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve got to build 2 of the top 4 builds, the Nano Gauntlet and the Sanctum Sanctorum. I had so much fun building them both and they’re some of my favourite LEGO sets I own. They are my 2 favourite Marvel LEGO sets

Not gonna lie lego was lazy with the rhino figure as they have the bigger minifigures like hulk and Thanos and as I played the spider man remastered game years back I know he has a massive build even bigger that the hulk and thanos yet Lego makes him smaller but in fairness to Lego it’s a 4+ set nobody really cares about it

Guys it’s a 4 and up set

The small Thor one where you get Jane gorr and Thor is underrated. While sure you can get all those figures in the goat boat, the attack on new Asgard set has a very low price tag and gives you three pretty good figs. Most sets wilts three figs cost more than that one and I think it deserve to be higher.

I agree with the smaller set, while the goat boat is decent, the mini figures being the same, I opted for the lesser version for some great mini figures. “It’s not a mini pack” but on sale I snagged it for only $15 CAD.

I I agree with just about everything you said. Easily my favorite set of the year is the Sanctum. The build is nearly perfect I think, it’s a beautiful model, both as a Marvel set and as a modular. I have some gripes with the minifigures but nothing so substantial that it hurts my love of the set. Easily top 3 Marvel!

Yeah really really good, set, and I agree the minifigures do take away from it slightly for me too. What’s your top 3? I’d say mine is Helicarrier, Bugle, Sanctum or Benatar. The original Milano is also sneakily really really good for what it is

@@PlainOldGrinch The Bugle and Sanctum are definitely number 1 and 2 respectively (i think the Sanctum is more impressive and detailed, but as a huge Spider-Man fan I had to put the bugle at number 1), number 3 is a bit more difficult, I really like the Ultimate Bridge Battle from a few years back, but the UCS-style Milano is really good too. It would probably be one of those.

Honestly I only bought the most recent armory for the minifigures and a sword piece I needed for my custom Link minifigure. I started using the rest to make the start of a shrine but failed to find usage for the other pieces

I got it for the figures too. There were a lot of repetitive pieces, but very few process overall.

Even when the War on the Water set was half off at Target I passed. It just doesn’t have enough playability for me and I would have bought it just for the figures.

I got the sanctum for christmas and I have the hammer, groot and gauntlet which’s are so good

I 100 % cemetery agree with the sanctum sanctorum being the best marvel set of the year. I mean I don't even have it yet and I know it's really good.

The new one from 2023? I haven’t built it yet, getting it this weekend and will do a review of it, but by the looks of it I’d say at least top 5. I’d have to build it to be sure. I will also do a worst to best quinjet video soonish:)

Marvel sets are lackluster. Hopefully next year is better. I’ll get a set here and there but the Marvel sets are just hard to get into. I did get the Black Panther War on the Water set for half price. That set is terribly overpriced at retail, like you said. I got the Iron Man Armory and the Groot for $65 total, which made them a decent buy. I’d get the Black Panther bust, but probably only at half off, so it’s a set I can miss and not care. Bridge Battle and Gargantos Showdown are great and I picked up both of those, the latter on discount. Shuri’s Sunbird is on my wish list, but I just don’t think it’s worth the retail price. It needs to be at least $10 less, $15-20 off would be ideal. Agree with your #1 even though I’m not into modular sets. It’s an impressive set. Sadly, two of their best sets of all-time are modulars and I just can’t get myself into those types of sets.

Modulars are great if you've never built one. I love the building experience. I think Lego has the Black Panther Bust onsale right now for 20% or 30% off. I hope they don't take the poor sales from the hulkbuster and bust and think that people don't want the sets. Like you said they sets themselves are what is lack luster, there is still a want to buy them.

No chance the Groot is that high. I built it, and it scared me so much that I had to rip off its head and mod the hell out of it (head is more of a 3x3 cube sort of shape)

@@PlainOldGrinch it scared the hell out of me (mostly due to the head proportions). I found that the body size was very close to 2014 groot (my friend has one), and the head was huge compared to it. I still have the set, and made a mod for it so it’s now more of adult groot/teenage groot, since the head is 8x smaller. I like my new one though, so it’s perfectly fine/

Yeah it wasn’t bad by any means, just wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. Hearing there would be two more D2cs after the sanctum got me excited, but those failed to deliver anything

I honestly think the sanctum should be top 3. While it is a nice display piece the minifig selection kills another marvel set, some of them were downgrades to their previous counterparts and that's really what killed the hype for me (didn't even buy it). But damn the hammer and the gauntlet 👌👌...

Never understood that sets that dont sell stay.. and things like thors hammer go away within a year

The iron man mech, in my opinion should be far lower, it has no scenes of proportion, articulation is complete and utter trash, price to piece ration is awfulness is off the chart, and while I haven't fully built, it complete shattered when I knocked over my brothers copy once, I don't dare mention accuracy or minifigs, All of these problems would make a fairly bad set on its own, if the price tag would be 40$, but excuse me you have 550$!? there shouldn't be any budget limitations, it's being outclassed by almost every other version which aren't all that good for the most but at least have some proportional coherence, better minifig, articulation, all but one are more stable, the only play function this has works better across the board and are more accurate

@@PlainOldGrinch well Id disagree because the other figures have superior articulation are better, although not well proportioned and only cost 25$ not 550$, the set doesn't look good or deliver on anything you would expect for such a price the build experienced, or at least that of the upper half (I have never built the lower half since I don't own the set and just repaired my brothers copy after knocking over, are worse than the average set often having pieces randomly fall off, and considering it does literally nothing else well at all, no display factor, no minifigures and no articulation, I would consider at least the mechs as better, yeah there builds are extremely short and display factor doesn't exist but at least they hold up, and don't just have pieces randomly fall off, and have massive hollow gaps, only able to be fix by spending another 50$, and period and there minifigures are usually up to higher standard.

@@PlainOldGrinch I know I can see where you are coming from But well I judge Lego set differently I can forgive faults considering budget, and I am harsher on a product when more money is asked for. I also put emphasis on what they want to be in comparison to what they are And well also personal disappointment and missed potential are factors Like this set could have used its budget to create new heavy duty joint molds to be used on the mighty bowser or optimus but instead it used it's budget on a failure of a gimmick Also my personal experience with rebuilding the torso may have sauerd my opinion even more, because well I rebuild the most fragile part, with some bricks which sustained damage causing even further fragility
