Yup. Particularly since John goes out of his way to tell us how much he doesn't do rankings. And its of the same thing he ranks all the time. Best superhero movies of 2023. Best superhero tv shows. Rank superhero movies of marvel phase 4. Rank the dceu even though society doesn't care about it anymore (as John loves to point out). Notice the theme!? Still love this show. Just don't turn into a ranking live show. Lol

@@halodriver1362 John only ranks franchise movies once in a while. He didn't say he doesn't ever rank. He said he doesn't go into long rankings during live questions. He has no problem dedicating time in segments/videos.

​@@casual.fanonymous I just recall him saying that he doesn't like rankings, and not just due to time constrants. And yeah, the off the cuff ranking superhero movies is fun, which he does do a the time.

I'll never understand how people put Thor 2 so consistently at/near the bottom. I won't argue the criticisms AGAINST the movie, but I think people forget that it's some of the best Loki material we've gotten, and the final fight is actually pretty fun.

I’ve never understood it either, when it first came out I remember people saying they liked it but then a few years later it out of nowhere became known as the bastard child of the MCU for some reason

Iron man 2 is definitely not the worst marvel movie in my humble opinion. There's been some terrible marvel movies especially lately.

Right? I actually enjoyed Ironman 2... introduction of black widow, some funny exchanges with Happy, The great Sam Rockwell.. and as always RDJ. Quantumania and even multiverse of Madness(which undermined Wanda's entire arc on WandaVision) are lower on the list for me, than Ironman 2. Not to mention Thor, the Dark World.

Wakanda Forever at 25 is killin me

I honestly never understood the hate for Iron Man 2. I enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater, and every time I watched it again, I would appreciate more because of the world building. The introduction of Black Widow and Justin Hammer's little dance is worth the rewatches for me. Plus, Downey Jr. was entertaining as hell.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 being at 14 is definitely a choice. For me that is the one film in the MCU that knows how to hit every emotional beat. It should be much higher than 14

It's definitely my favorite Thor movie. It's really charming and it's easily Tom Hiddleston's best performance as Loki. It suffers on production value but makes up in everything else.

I will NEVER understand why Iron Man 2 gets so much hate. To rank it below dreck like Love and Thunder and Multiverse of Madness is mindblowing.

32. Love & Thunder - The entire movie was a joke 31. Quantumania - Everything felt hollow and underwhelming 30. Captain Marvel - So bland that it’s awful 29. Dark World - It’s overhated but still very forgettable 28. Iron Man 2 - It’s a giant mess but a kinda fun mess 27. Ant-Man & the Wasp - Fun enough but also forgettable 26. Eternals - It’s not that bad but also not that good 25. The Incredible Hulk - I like it but that may just be nostalgia 24. Black Widow - I remember enjoying it but I feel like it’s one of those that will fall on the list if I rewatch it 23. Thor - A good start but has some of those early MCU growing pains 22. Homecoming - Vulture rules and a really fun 1st movie for Spidey in the MCU 12. Guardians 2 - Hit or miss humor but the character work is beautiful 11. Shang-Chi - The best recent MCU origin story 10. Iron Man - A classic that began the MCU powerfully 9. Ragnarok - A bit too much humor but an all around blast 8. Guardians 1 - Such a fun intro to some of my favorite MCU heroes 7. Avengers - It’s when the MCU really found it’s footing 6. Winter Soldier - A darker MCU movie that continues Cap’s story perfectly 5. Guardians 3 - A beautiful conclusion to my favorite group of misfits 4. Civil War - This was when the MCU fully got me on board 3. No Way Home - An absolute treasure for Spider-Man fans like myself 2. Endgame - The perfect conclusion to the Infinity Saga 1. They aren’t terrible movies. Most are a lot of fun, but they all have big missteps that lead to the “decline” of the franchise quality and endearment. Bad writing choices and really bad character arcs across the board are mostly to blame.

I mean u are entitled to ur opinion..my brother grew up reading comics and i didnt and he loved the movies but not the MCU or DCEU and after watching BvS and then Civil War his love of this genre just ended..it makes me sad as i love all these movies and i can see ur point and my brothers over the last 10 years but i love them so much i cant help it..

I agree The Avengers is number 1. I'm sad that so many people have it outside of their top 5 or top 10. To me it's perfect and easily the best on screen version of Hulk we have ever seen.

It’s honestly tough to pick what the worst one is because even the lower tier ones had stuff to like imo. Civil War is the best film to me. They did such a great job at making you understand each character’s motives and the twist at the end just had me on the edge of my seat. Plus who doesn’t love the airport battle

WandaVision is my favorite MCU project, and I genuinely believe that Multiverse of Madness is the best Marvel movie. The two projects complement each other very well, in my opinion. MoM fulfills the Scarlet Witch prophecy that Agatha warned Wanda about, and I'm obsessed with how Wanda acts a lot like Agatha in the film. It's brilliant storytelling.

@@daltonmeadesmith but Dr Strange feels like a side character in his own movie. Mordo was set up as the villain in the first movie and we don’t even see that version of him in the sequel. Also I did not like the America Chavez character at all.

You've got WAY too many movies above Eternals. Boring characters with bland powers fighting generic monsters and an ending that breaks the Marvel universe.

Agree with you about Civil War's awesome airport scene being the best ever. It's one of the reasons why Civil War is my #1 favorite Marvel movie of all-time.

Shang Chi was a pretty good movie but just not great..for someone that has been watching a lot of Asian Cinema most my life it felt like they cherry picked from different Chinese made movies and stuck them together for this and since a lot of people probably dont watch that many movies from China it would seem so original..thats what i personally felt watching..i was naming the movies to friends in the theatre..Shang Chi was a decent character and i liked the actor in the role.. it had the great Tony Leung killing it as always and that Bus scene was dope but yeah not much else for me..Its like John said though, its all subjective..i love ur other choices though..

@@garydodd2837 to each his own; I think the blending of all the amazing Asian works was a strength of the movie, not a weakness. To me, the climax of the movie is still the best scene in mcu history at this point. I could be persuaded that any of the other movies in my top 5 are better movies objectively, but yeah subjectively (and to an extent objectively with respect to the climax being more goosebump-inducing than any other mcu scene) I'd keep Shang Chi in there :)

That Wakanda Forever ranking is atrocious…. I guess it’s just me but I liked it better than the first one

Nah I’m with you man. Wakanda forever is a great film I think people can’t look passed Chadwick not being in the movie. I’d have to agree it is superior to the first one

Iron man 2 is the first MCU movie I saw and it got me hooked. I would definitely rank it as a mid range movie.

The list started off strong got crazy towards the middle with the rankings of no way home, captain marvel and Thor and then slightly redeemed itself towards the end

Shang Chi was a snooze fest to me but different strokes for different folks.

Whatever the ranking, what blows my mind is that I have lived long enough for there to be 32 MCU films with a shared universe. 32! I mean, some television series don't get 32 episodes.

For a long time I loved just poppin on ant man. It was always just so much fun light. It ranks higher for me

Me least favorite is Iron Man 2 which is a complete mess. My favorite is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: it is somehow both the funniest and most touching movie in the MCU for me. It's like a great Pixar film. I love it.

You're list surprisingly was similar to mine with a few exceptions. I had Spider-Man No Way Home way higher on my list and Antman & the Wasp way lower. The 2nd Antman film had some of the worst editing I've seen in a major comic book movie. Also, I thought most people had Winter Soldier higher than Civil War. But both are amazing so no complaint here.
