The wide serve is just part of the problem. The real problem is the overpowered power shot. With diesel power shots and fatality, players can launch precise rockets wherever they want regardless of how well you return the serve.

Dropshots are very poorly executed in this game. Even if you hit them with perfect timing and direction (which is very difficult), it's often just shorter and easier to get slice :P And even if you somehow hit them just behind the net - 90% of opponents will get it, even if they were previously standing behind the baseline. Very unrealistic.

Can you also do a tutorial on how you serve, what type of serve you do, maybe talk about where best to use each shot. I noticed flat shots are not to be used on the sides of the court, they always go to the net, but I’d love to learn more on how to use proper finishers according to the situation.

Out of curiosity, why do you move around so much on the baseline when receiving serve? Feels like it should be counterproductive really, hard enough to fend off the wide serve-blast it cross court one-two at the best of times without leaving yourself even more ground to cover by standing off the court in the tramlines haha. Crazy that this guy was still so committed to just trying to abuse the wide serve/cross court combo with how open it was down the middle, haha.

Good question. It’s just so that I can get a head start if I guess correctly. It’s a lot easier to get to the ball from a moving position than from being completely stationary in my experience. I’m moving side to side while holding the fast reposition button.

First off your tennis iq has improved by a lot and your adding more variety in your game it’s massively helped you glad to see!! When people wide serve your stepping into the court which in theory seems good but the problem with it , in irl tennis u only do this with second serves because the shots r more attack able , in a video game it’s not the case on top of the fact doing that. Your putting yourself to far in the court to half to reset , in those positions u go running towards the the net . It costed u a lot of points doing that Your player doesn’t have the best return build , so when there going wide adding more slices gives u more time to recover your position, if your gonna try and go for the return with a stroke , aim it more toward there feet this is what Novak does that allows him to be such a good returner . Another option u can do is u can go further back the ball has to bounce meaning it can reach a further distance then people think in doing this u can actually give your self a lot of. Sharper angle but keep in mind it’s a high risk , high reward , the down line will be open for the server especially if they cut the ball off early. Doing these option thou ^ will eventually not consistently but it will eventually allow u to win a game or take it to deuce The drop shots although I ahevnt played the game yet your doing it in a straight line which isn’t how drop shots typically work irl U typically want to do it at a angle such as ↖️↗️like these , the reason being your cutting the distance the ball will travel meaning it will be closer to the net Obviously in tennis u can do straight drop shots but when people do that notice how they add a lot more extra spin on the ball it’s to cut the distance which is why it typically doesn’t stay in the same place . Also when your at the middle of volley line , if someone drop shots u , the best option isn’t to hit the ball deep the reason being u don’t have enough time to rest yourself this is why when u do that tactic most of the time u win the point , So in those situations a drop on another drop shot puts u in a lot moreee favorable postion the opponent has to run to the net while your already at the net giving u a much higher chance at winning the point even if they get the ball. You also have a fear of approaching the net there’s many times where u r in the middle of the court in a very advantageous position to where u can easily close the point out and save stamina but u choose to go back and reset allowing the opponent to rest the point , Ik your build is more just like a delpo type build , but even then he still went to the net to close out points. The best way to look at it if your in a rally and a lot of your momentum is coming forward when your well past the baseline u typically want to go forward Also when you served and volley it was a good idea u actually had the point but u hit it in the middle never do that when u volley there meant for having angles , if the oppent is close to the baseline your first shot should typically should be one of 2 options 1. Should be as deep as possible to the baseline to make the 2nd hit not so good or 2. U cut the angle of the ball and make it very low with an angle these r typically what u want to do then your follow up shot is typically your closer Again thou much much better improvement in your game by a lot !!!
