S.D. Burman and son R.D. Burman were two of the best composers our film industry has seen. Both enriched our music. Unfortunately junior Burman went for each and every film that came his way and lost his creativity, while senior was choosy and continued to be in demand till his last day. It was courageous of Vidhu Vinod Chopra to have shown faith in RDB and we saw the same creativity once again. Thanks for your comments.

Another great piece of information is mentioned in this interview about Kishore da..actually his singing had glimpse of Burman da..though Kishore da sang beautifully for almost all composers but he used to stand out whenever it was for Burman da n latter for Junior Burman!

In 1950 S.D. Burman took Kishore Kumar to Madras for recording of song "Qusoor aapka' for Bahar (1951). Kishore Kumar has said about that trip: "Wahaan unhone mujhe apne hi kamre mein Thehraaya. Aur, tab mujhe pataa chalaa ki sangeet hi unka jeevan tha. UThte, baiThte chalet, firte, har baat sangeet ki hoti, har kaam sureela hota. Sachin-da mujhe baar baar samjhaate 'Ae Kishore, yeh gaa, aisa gaa, ‘expression’ ke saath, zyaada muDkiyaan taan maarne se kuchh naheen hotaa, seedha gaayegaa to gaana ‘public’ ko zyaada achchha lagegaa, samjhaa na!’" (Courtesy: Ameen Sayani)

To train KIshore's voice SDB used to take him to fields in and around Bombay (Mumbai) and make him sing 'Jhingalala, jhingalala' and other phrases. SDB soon realised that Kishore gave his best during recording if he was given the rehearsed song in a tape to take home and practice. This practice was later followed by Pancham too.
