Tav moving up one on the right hand side or moved centrally into midfield would be absolutely horrendous. I almost want to see it happen so that we can put that idea to bed. I get the thinking of getting him away from the defence but when you're at the point of wanting to move players out of their position to minimise the damage they cause you know that player is finished. He along with Goldson need moved on in the summer. Its an absolute necessity.

I say you never know. I didn’t think Rickesn would’ve been a cracking CM but he surprised me. We don’t know how he would fare in that role. I’d put him in over lundstrum any day of the week. Not saying he should be nailed on for a starting spot but he has earned the right to see if he is an improvement on what we have. It’s not like we are bursting with talent in midfield where we are spoiled for options. If it doesn’t work, he should be moving on cause he isn’t good enough in his current position. Phil Neville and guys like that weren’t technical geniuses but he managed to keep his career going by shifting into a defensive midfield role and was brilliant. Not convinced it’s a great move but is better than having him horribly exposed out wide again.

@@billyk5038 for me, we have had a full season of playing all these midfielders and many of them haven’t managed to nail down the position and make it their own. We have to play Sterling at right back for me and that obviously takes him out of the running for a midfield slot. We have dio nailed on but who else is a definite? Lawrence has been terrible in old firms, Cantwell I don’t mind but he hasn’t been great in the fixture either, Dowell isn’t for me, Rasking could play and I’d be ok with that but who else? Jack ain’t fit so why not give Tav a bash? We just aren’t spoiled for choice and could do worse than playing the same lot who keep letting us down. Can’t play Lunny, too slow. I’m not saying it will defo work but I don’t get the people dismissing it instead of having a better option. We could sit there all day saying “Nah” about lots of players in that team but they need to put 11 on the park. I would hope he doesn’t start at right back but Clement won’t drop him. If he plays him at RB and Lunny, I’d put my idea against that team any day of the week.

Imagine the mightly Glasgow Rangers - so scared of their captain and right back - getting embarrassed AGAIN - that they have to shift him OUT OF POSITION - so it doesn't look so bad. I never thought I'd see the day. Supporting since 1978. Embarrasing.

Well that day is here. What is your starting line up that is gonna do well against these lot? Easy to complain but very little quality to choose from and the midfield we have is rank rotten.

Embarrasing you cant see TAVS defending,the captain constantly out of position,cannot defend.keep supporting...

I hope we take Cortes on a loan extension until January, just to be sure over no adverse affects by injury. He has no previous poor record for injury so there is a good chance he will be fine. He is a very good player for our left wing. I think him and Jefte with Cordoba at LCB would strengthen our left side massively in defence and attack. We just need Sterling for right back as main starter and a quality RCB in. And some good cover for the RCB and RB slots.

Did you watch the podcast with the guy from Cyprus ? Said Jefte is poor defensively and gets caught ball watching a lot, really makes me worried about that signing.

@@danielmorrison7298 he also said he has that typical Brazilian flair and attacking prowess. Listen the guy pointed out some deficiencies at 21 years old. He will improve under Clement and will be more than capable here and could go for big money as well if he does well. Kopen and Clement obviously feel what is there is good enough to work with and I trust that, as well as I have watched footage and liked what I see play wise. We can't afford the finished article. However being robust, no prior injury issues, and can attack well and likely dovetail with Cortes and he will have Cordoba covering him as well as protection from midfield and can improve defensively, I am not worried. With him and Foster pushing each other for a place we will fine.

It’s just a red flag for me mate I don’t doubt that he would become a good player since he’s only 20 but that’s not what we need right now. We need a play in that position who is good defensively and will fit in straight away. This guy could take years to be good enough. I was reading an article about him and he was dropped for being so poor defensively. Can’t be bothered with another one of them.

Derek, Tavernier not only needs moved from right back, he needs removed from starting line up and moved on in summer… Celtic see his name on team sheet they will be laughing at us all the way to the double… Tavernier will gift them goals as usual… Guy is a huge liability, especially against Celtic - our captain is terrified of them… No doubt he’ll knock in late consolation penalty in final and some fans will say see keep him - which will like be handing them ‘56…

So Ryan Jack has been selected for the Euros Scotland team. He is fit but out of favour at Rangers. They cant play Ryan Jack but they play John Lundstrum who kicked us in thr teeth for the league fight. Something far wrong with selection. And CJ Novo said the club looks like they will give Lundstrum an extension to stay. Surely not 🤷‍♂️

I agree with CJ Novo. Whack Tav in midfield. He doesn’t have the pace for wing or fullback. He has distribution whether it be long passes or short, he cannot chase wingers or beat left backs but he is fast enough to catch a CM. He is defensively aware (to a degree), can tackle and it might allow him to prolong his Rangers career. If Ricksen can do it, Tav can. It’s worth a bash in my opinion. When he take’s free kicks from the left, we aren’t horribly exposed down the right as well. We know he isn’t capable against Celtic in that position now
