Verdict Comfortable enough for a cross-continent tour and rugged enough for a trail ride, the Range Rover is a jack-of-all-trades SUV with a price tag to match.
The Range Rover has been the SUV of choice for celebrities and wealthy elites for decades, but even though it pampers its passengers like a luxury car it still offers off-road capability that means it can venture well off the red carpet. All models come with all-wheel drive, an adjustable air suspension, and plenty of ground clearance. You can choose between inline-six, plug-in-hybrid, and V-8 powertrains. You can also deck the Range Rover out with all manner of luxury features, including massaging seats in both rows, rear bucket seats, power-deployable rear-seat tray tables, and a beverage chiller. No matter which version you choose you'll pay a six-figure price, which means the Range Rover automatically costs more than entry-level versions of rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class. But it's exactly all of this obvious extravagance that attracts the Range Rover's image-obsessed buyers, and after sampling several variants of this latest generation of the luxury SUV, we can see why.
What's New for 2024?
It's still early in the Range Rover's fifth generation, but already Land Rover has tweaked the powertrain lineup for 2024. The plug-in-hybrid P440e has been replaced with a more powerful P550e which makes 542 horsepower. P400 and P530 models see no changes to their horsepower ratings, but the top-spec SV model is now powered by a 606-hp V-8 engine that wears the P615 moniker. Elsewhere, Land Rover has introduced a new customization service called SV Bespoke which provides buyers more opportunities for personalization when building their dream Range Rover.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
P400 SE: $108,875
P530 SE: $131,750
P550e Autobiography: $142,575
P530 Autobiography: $167,750
P615 SV: $210,475
We'd recommend opting for the mid-range Autobiography model, which adds several sought-after items that luxury buyers will appreciate. For example, the Autobiography comes standard with a 1600-watt Meridian stereo system featuring headrest-mounted speakers and active noise cancellation. The Range Rover will be offered in both short- and long-wheelbase body styles, and we suggest going for the latter since it creates room for a third row of seats and provides a more generous cargo area.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Range Rover is available with a quartet of powertrains, starting with a turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt hybrid system dubbed P400 that develops 395 horsepower. During our initial test drive, it proved to be silky-smooth and provided adequate pep to tug the large Range Rover around. A 523-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine-Land Rover calls it P530-is even perkier and cranks up the Range Rover's towing capacity to 8200 pounds. At our test track, the P530 hustled the Range Rover to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds; the P400 did it in 5.5 seconds. A 542-hp plug-in hybrid option-called P550e-is also available but only on the short wheelbase Autobiography trim, and the range-topping SV comes with a 606-hp V-8 called P615. Our long-wheelbase P400 test vehicle managed to hit 60 mph in a fairly brisk 5.5 seconds while the short-wheelbase P530 we tested did it in just 4.3 seconds. The Range Rover's ride is suitably plush and, with its adjustable air suspension set to Comfort mode, it virtually floats down the road. Turning the dial to Dynamic mode firms things up some, but the big Rover still aims for a comfort-first mission.

дизайнеры из Англии это просто боги, визуальный комфорт от текстур , форм, материалов и пропорций дарят наслаждение от увиденного, ну и конечно большой плюс тому кто снимал ролик.

Есть одно но вызывающее недоумение. Этот планшет прилепленный посреди консоли а-ля Тесла это примитивизация и абсурд в такой дорогой машине. Совсем не гармонично смотрится. Такие китайские планшеты прилепленный к приборной панели хороши в дешёвых китайских электрокарах. Но никак не в люксовых внедорожниках!

@@user-yy7tc2qg2c У новых не знаю,не использовал.. У меня по старше рендж Ровер спорт.. Здесь всё просто, как следишь за машиной, так она тебя и возит.. Доволен машиной, да в обслуживании дороговато, но оно того стоит.. Рендж это машина очень хорошая, комфортная.. Мотор ягуар, 300 л.с.

My only complain about this suv which is so expensive, is that it only takes two passengers in the back. I know it's meant to be driven but for that price i would take the 7 seater instead i don't need recline my seats all the way back. imo

You're missing the point. In China, status comes from having a driver, and riding in the back. Range Rover is competing in the luxury market, which means status for the rear passengers, a billionaire and his wife.

Авто, конечно, Агонь! Особенно, чем новей, тем козырней! А вообще, кто-нибудь знает, как они ездиют по дорогам? Не в смысле навалить на гашетку, и унестись, а потом еще надо обслужить его ещё материально. Приведу немного примеров. У моего отца первым был Ланд Ровер Дискавери 3, черный. Про него ничего плохого сказать не могу, только каждое, даже самое небольшое ТО, стоило очень дорого. Вышел Дискавери 4, он взял новый, белого цвета, красивый, модный. Но, помимо, небольших поломок, двигатель накрылся через 300 тыщ.км. В сервисе поменяли движок (при чём очень интересная история: кузов полностью снимается с рамы, мотор меняется и кузов ставится на раму). Ну всё, после этого сдали отдали авто в добрые руки. Батя берёт такой же, новый, чёрного цвета. Этот вообще интересный был. На нем в дороге два раза масса отваливалась. Хорошо что мы парни рукастые, и рядом были населенные пункты, где можно было изобрести провода с хорошим сечением, и накинуть с аккумулятора на мотор "массу", в котором только в серединке, под пласстмаской есть болтик-писюн, не помню, вроде д6. А предохранители почти все на 70 ампер, а есть и на 100. И так два раза, и это была полнейшая жопа. В итоге, также, примерно 300 тыщ.км прошел и всё. Уточняю, все предыдущие были дизелями. Но вдруг выходит Дискавери 5, вообще модный!. Батя решился на этот раз, попробовать бензин. И примерно, также 300-400 тыщ.км пробило прокладку. Заказали, в сервисе поменяли двигатель, щас ездиет. Но в общем, на всех этих авто было столько, даже небольших поломок, вспоминать страшно. Это всё говорю про новые Лендроверы. А у знакомых на Ренджиках, то пневмо откажет, то ступицы разваливаются. Так что, моё мнение, все вновь выходящие Реджики, это очень круто, красиво, стильно, модно, молодёжно, а немного проедешь и труба. Если у кого-то другое мнение, поясните, может я ошибаюсь.
