You never know. When I was getting married I made an appointment at David's. I invited several people to the appointment as I was very young and people wanted to be a part of it. David's told me to go shopping and get an idea of what I wanted, so that I'd be able to pick out a dress at the appointment. That's what one of my bridesmaids and I did. We went to quite a few stores and everything was a no, but I was able to get an idea of what I didn't want. At the last store before David's I found a dress that fit (I was very tiny, so it was a miracle) and it was only $109. I wasn't sure, but my mom came and tried to convince me. We decided to wait till after David's as the appointment had been booked and people had taken off work to be at the appointment. When David's was a bust, I felt very guilty and unsure how to tell people that I wasn't getting a dress. Sometimes these things happen and people don't know how to handle the situation. Imagine you are booked to be on a national show, but end up finding the dress randomly before hand. You don't want the snobbish consultants to attack something so dear to you, but you don't know how to bow out. You may even be under contract to appear. You never know. Yes, this situation could've been handled better, but people don't always know how to handle a situation until after they've lived through the experience.

@@tintioz3281 they knew there was another dress. I am not sure if they just guessed, or if she had informed them ahead of time that they had "a dress to beat" and they decided to work that into the script. I am not sure if this was the case at the time, but nowadays at Kleinfeld, even if you're not going to be on the show, when you book your appointment you have to tell them what dress style you're interested in and choose dresses from their catalogue that you want to try on. A lot of wedding shops ask these sorts of questions when you book your appointment, although not necessarily in those details. Our florist also asked us a ton of questions. Kleinfeld especially is so busy that they need to know what the client wants before they come in. For the show, they need to prepare ahead of time as well so as not to make the consultants look foolish or the store poorly stocked or portray the client in a way that would get Kleinfeld and TLC sued. That's why it's mostly scripted.

Developmentally, she has not reached age 7. That is when you look beyond yourself to the wider world, consider the feelings of others, learn about compassion and consequences for your actions. Her parents have much to answer for. Notice that her mother and the rest of the entourage was amused. Not embarrassed, but amused that they somehow pulled a fast one on the staff. Pathetic and shallow people.

Poor Randy and he did so well to handle the situation. That spoiled brat of a bride had no intention of buying a dress, she just wanted to be on a video. I pity the bloke who married her as nothing seems good enough for her and to start off with such an obvious lie by saying the budget was 2,000 dollars above what it actually was, was unforgivable. She should be ashamed of herself. Well done Kleinfeld.
