Yeah I agree, my mom and dad met at work, and they didn't get fired for dating. Also my great grandparents met at their job, and my grandfather was fired for dating my grandmother cause they thought she did a better job. That shouldn't have been the fiancés call at all

There was very likely a store policy against fraternization i.e. they probably couldn't date while she worked there, and given her serious lack of self-confidence as a salesperson, she may have been the weakest on the team.

It seems like with a $5000 budget, they could find more “classic, close fitting” dresses than these. I think it is good that she didn’t choose a dress her first time out and without her mom.

This is a very good example of how it's not about weight but mental health. If mental health is not the main focus in any weight loss or gain you can't be happy. Loving yourself and knowing there is no one else like in spite of what say or do is, true happiness. We are all special and unique.

Why didn't Randy pull some dresses? For a $5,000 budget they sure didn't give her much of a choice. The dress she chose was okay, but nothing spectacular. She's stunning and played it too safe.

You don’t have to be anorexic to still feel bigger, even years after losing weight. But she looks a little bit too thin when you look at her, her bones are sticking out and her arms look very thin, so anorexia may be a possibility.

I can understand the mental thing. I was a size 12, lost weight, went shopping and I think I thought a 10 would fit, the saleslady said, "Hon, you are not a 10." And brought me a 6. I was shocked! I hadn't worn a 6 since I was a teen and that was long before 2 babies. The 6 fit. But it's so hard to even wrap your head around being someone different than YOU thought you were. I have since put on muscle and got to a natural weight for me which puts me an 8....but it took me DECADES to get here.

The staff at Klienfelds really let her down .Those dresses fitted into the O.K zone ,but barely .She is lovely. O.K. Is certainly not enough . Her entourage was correct.

I've lost 262 lbs., and I feel for her. I can't see what everyone else sees. Ok, once in a while I'll look in the mirror or compare my new self to my old self and it 'clicks', but it's just a fleeting minute and I'm once again back to my old, fat, frumpy self. She's so beautiful. I wish she could truly see it.

I get the feeling she’s chosen that man based on her low self esteem…so many red flags here and she chose someone a lil bottom shelf. If I were her I’d go find me first and then date someone who was more top shelf.

I wish I could find out how this bride is doing now ..she clearly went a little too far with the weight loss. Hope she is well

I totally understand. I lost 150+ pounds in the early 2000's after growing up chubby due to an undiagnosed thyroid issue that turned out to be cancer. I still haven't gotten used to being thin and won't buy things smaller than a medium for fear that I might get heavy again. I think I will always have that overweight girl in the back of my mind.

they put a sash on it, her friends want more bling, why not try it with a beaded belt instead? i think that would balance out the stuffiness of the lace, give her friends a bit of what they want to see, and break up the dress visually.

Body dysmorphia is a very real thing and I still suffer and struggle with it. Any amount of weight I have gained back sends me spiraling and the image I see in the mirror instantly becomes the one that’s 90lbs heavier than I actually am. It’s hard…and even harder to explain to someone who hasn’t ever dealt with it.

You're right about people not understanding it. My husband tries, but ultimately gets impatient with me. It is especially difficult for me since I grew up being compared to my thinner sister (why aren't you as beautiful as she is?) and I have never felt like I measured up. About ten years ago, I was pretty sick and, for the first and only time in my life, experienced dramatic weight loss without trying. Within about six months, I was down to 95 pounds and, even then, I struggled with my body image. It's crazy what we ourselves, our families, the media and other influencers do to our emotional selves and how difficult or impossible it is to get past it.

I didn’t think any of the dresses were flattering to her.

I think they could have picked better dresses. Mom needs to be there.

Kleinfields is a dream shop for many brides.

The problem is that strapless is a bad look for her. She doesn’t have much of a bust, and it would be better for there to be straps or short sleeves.

I had a similar experience when I got married. I had recently had surgery that took me from a JJ cup size down to a D overnight. Even though I was over the moon happy with the results, it was still so hard to accept that I looked good in certain styles when I'd never looked good in them before (or couldn't even fit in them to begin with). I cried several times while dress shopping and even sat in the parking lot and refused to go in to one of my appointments because it was so overwhelming. You definitely need to give yourself time to emotionally process that change in order to see yourself differently, so that you're not completely shocked and overwhelmed every time you try on a new dress.

I recently lost 150 pounds naturally. I agree that no one really tells you about the mental work that goes into weightloss. I recently went dress shopping and it was a weird feeling. I knew what i wanted my wedding dress to be but I trusted the experts at the bridal shop. They found the right dress for me and it wasn't what i expected. I was able to get it at 65% off since it was a discontinued dress. Which also meant it was one size only. No ordering it in another size. This was it. I was amazed i fit into something right off the rack! I still dont feel small. I still feel like the fat girl. It really is hard. I feel for her. And shes blessed to still have her mom to help. Mine passed away. I wish i had her there for support. I pray this girl has since found herself and improved her confidence. Its not easy. ❤

Am I the only one who found severally things wrong and creepy about this? The fiance firing her to date her and the weight loss seems to be a huge deal so much that I worry she is not healthy in it. Either physically or emotionally. She is a beautiful young lady and deserves her own voice.

one of those frustrating episodes 😒 for 5K they could do so much better. when she’s so slim now, she has curves they just get overwhelmed easily. they kept putting her in more structured, tailored styles & stiffer fabrics. She just needed a damn mermaid dress with some nice drape and a deeper neckline to bring out & flatter those curves, her waist is tiny she doesn’t need any cinching in…. could’ve been so easy and looked amazing. as long as she ended up happy but this was such a fail 🤦‍♀️

I once lost 115 pounds and a year later finally started to slowly regain. The years of regain finally slowed to a stop, still about 60 pounds less than when my slo-mo yo-yo began. The mental adjustment is just a lot of time-consuming work and very tricky. While the rest of the world, even those who always loved us, see us as healed of our weight problem, they can frequently miss how much the struggle and obsessive elements of the inner war can remain, morph, pendulum, and swing in a hundred different directions. It's like living in an emotional pinball machine. It is difficult to make peace with one's past, present, and future when the larger world never fathomed the inner challenges from the start.

. As a mental health nurse, I've worked in many eating disorder units, so I know it's not the person's weight that's the problem but their brain which tricks them into believing they're fat when in reality they're skin and bone. It starts off innocuously; losing weight then getting compliments and encouragement from others, but then it keeps going. Then suddenly friends and family see how much their loved one has shrunk and they become concerned and rightly so. Also, they might notice changes in behaviour. She's a very pretty girl as she was before she lost all that weight. Now she's got to deal with her daemons, so she doesn't lose anymore. I hope she's been to her doctor to get checked out. I wish her all the best for the future.

I suffered from anorexia for years and I can tell you she’s too skinny. She makes statements that tell me she needs counseling. I weigh 120 now and I still see FAT. When I weighed 82 lbs I still saw fat. I WILL ALWAYS SEE FAT. I weigh myself everyday, not so I can see how much I need to lose, but so I can depend on the scale to be my honest friend when I know my head isn’t. Counseling can’t change what I see, but it helps change how I react to it. I wish her the best.
