I'm in Ireland. As a retired teacher I was appalled by the murder of this talented young woman right at the beginning of her teaching career. The main suspect is from Slovakia. We have many foreign workers in Ireland who make positive contributions to society but what worries me are the men admitted to the country who may have criminal records in their own country. This is something that the EU and Ireland need to seriously look at.

He has never had a proper employment in Ireland, but he got a disability benefit due to some lower back issues. He is 31 yo and already father of 5 children. Irish social system supports EU people who might not have worked here long enough (few months, year, two) then they stop working, claiming health issues as an excuse to get support. Plus bringing disable family member to get carer allowance here. Many of these EU people are from roma (gypsy) background. For them financial and housing support they get in Ireland is much better option than back home. But - that does not mean all Roma (gypsy) people are criminals or unemployed people. And Ireland was quite behind to join the Schengen Information system (SIS) only in March 2021. This system helps to detect (find) people living in Ireland who committed crimes in their country of origin (27 EU countries)

I thought this video was very interesting and accurate. The first location brought you to a place of loss. A once vibrant full of life community struck by tragedy not unlike Ashling. The second location felt off. It felt lonely, desolate and foreboding. As you were driving down that road toward the gate I got the sickest feeling in my stomach. I have never had such a strong feeling from watching a video before, I wanted you to stop and turn around. I think this was one of the most accurate Rando videos I have seen. ❤

Just as you described the poisoning of the earth by the nuclear testing in the area you were in and that it still hadn't recovered, I sometimes wonder if some earthlings of the earth are more susceptible to toxins that have little affect on others. Those who commit acts of terror need to be held accountable, but I think it is important to keep asking larger societal questions around acts of violence. We are more connected than we can imagine. I was also struck at how such a thin layer of beautiful snow can cover the pain of so much loss and devastation.

Poor young angel was confused when he appeared out of no where to do the unthinkable.

Sad news this week about a young 19 year-old girl from Canada who has been murdered in England. She came over to visit a young man she met online and now he is the chief suspect. She was from British Columbia and was due to fly home in a few days.

The fires there were terrible - watched on tv; the wind was insane... such devastation. i can see where the start of the fire area could be a parallel with the grief and maybe the start of some ugly mess (racism) in relation to this young lady's death. That area with all that fencing is scary - i can feel it; Turn around and leave that area - He is just a vicious animal that laid in wait for a body to come along. Poor Ashling..

He belongs to Roma (gypsy) minority - they make up around 10 % of Slovak population. Countries like Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary and Romania have Roma (gypsy) minorities in higher numbers than in other European countries. Ireland has travellers.

I’ve heard you bring up race on another video and then here again. I don’t think the cases that go unheard of are a matter of race at all. It’s more of a matter of public access to the case. In the Gabby case she was a KZreadr and people were following her content as things were happening and then the overland community jumped in which is huge and widespread. That’s why she got so much coverage. Every case is different of course but it’s not about a white girl or a black girl it’s just different public access.
