Saw em on this tour First song Roots Radical. Second song Timebomb Third song I wanna riot The second we saw shadows on the dark stage two dudes I did not know, grabbed me and one says "How's it feel to be the first one up at the Rancid show?" And before Tim got to the word sixty I was in the air against my will! 🤣🤣 Fn AMAZING SHOW!!!
For those of you arguing about whether this song is punk, you have obviously have no knowledge of The Clash, Operation Ivy, Fugazi, etc. All of these bands had ska and reggae influences, and I can't imagine anyone saying they aren't punk. Rancid is, and will always remain, one of the best of the modern punk bands.

Of course posers won't find this punk. They won't even know that punk had tons of influences from reggae and ska. Steel Pulse, the Great reggae band, used to play at punk venues.

I'm here because of my dad. I love him for introducing me to music like this.
Punk rock English teacher since the 1970's. I love this band.
If you have to argue about exactly what punk "is" then you're missing the point. Punk is all about doing what you want, regardless of what people think of you. It's about being your own individual. That's Rancid.

Tim Timebomb created mumble rap before it was trendy
This takes me back to the days when growing up in the UK. The songwriters were clever in the way they addressed social, racial, and political ills to music written most often in a major key. Beyond the music of the 1950's and 1960's, it was a defining moment in the mid-70's and beyond for western music. This "ska" music noted the amalgam of reggae and energy of punk rock at an important time of social unrest in the 20th century. No one can forget such bands as The Specials, Bad Manners, and The Selecter (Two-Tone), etc. Even the Police in the early days were listed as "ska punk." One seldom forgets moments of originality.
You're legend if you still listening TODAY.

There's actually a vibrant and growing ska scene, if you know where to look. Check out 1592, the Detroit Ska Revue, Soul Radics, the Interrupters and Westbound Train for newer acts, but Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris, Goldfinger, Streetlight Manifesto (who used to be Catch 22), the Suicide Machines are all touring this winter.

Secrets to a good life is knowing when you're through
This video is what turned me on to Rancid and was lucky enough to see them on the Lalapalooza tour in 97 with the Ramones, Sound Garden and Metallica headlining in support of their Load album. This show was out in the country in some farmers field in Ferris Texas. Was an incredible show. Love this band. Long live Rancid.
