Yes, but it was a good match up and a fair gentleman contest. Alonso is still a legendary player so don't disrespect him and say he suffered. He didn't suffer he lost respectfully and played great. This is why everyone hates Barca and Madrid fans. Alonso played Messi a lot at his peak any midfielder in history would have got spanked by Messi. Alonso put up a good competition this video doesn't show all the times Alonso tackled Messi or all the times he assisted in his team beating Barca
