It is not a love song. The song was originally written on request by Vitaly Klitschko (Boxer). He Wanted to use it as his entrance song for his Fights. After listening to it he decided not to use it because he thought the song was to Heavy. After that the song was regulary released.

Rammstein don't explain their songs. There is often more than one interpretation. They deliberately leave this desicion to the listeners. So you're both right. (But indeed the song was originally written for a boxer)

The rolling r is his trademark. he is doing it for the show. they are trying alot to tell a story with a good show. kinda like theater. His cuts are makeup and his sweating makes him look so dirty (which is planned) . Yeah, when you stand in the first 10 Raws, your Skin a burning. By Sonne, you think, you are in hell. It's crazy. But this is not the only Song with many Flames.

"Sonne" was actually meant as the entrance-song for a german-ukranian (or belarusian, not sure) boxer. But when he got the result he deemed it too rough/much. It's why there's boxing-symbolisms in the song ("the sun is coming out of my hands" "he will go down (to the ground) tonight")

Maybe a good thing, since seeing an over 2 meter tall muacle bound giant come out to that riff might've unnerved his opponents enough for the figts to be unfair. Then again, I'd imagine he'd have an even greater fear advantage had he had "Tip toe through the tulips" by Tiny Tim...

At Rammstein concerts, a special stage worker is very close to the stage and is connected by a microphone to the person who controls the fire. He feels the temperature on his cheek and gives corresponding instructions whether you can still step it up a notch or the flames have to be reduced

@@kai_henrik Someone from the band once said that when the video for Feuer Frei from the movie Triple X was shot, the producer created so many flames that even the band got too hot.

The one song where they actively weed out those who haven't stayed hydrated throughout the show lol. Those flames are so FUCKING HOT it's mental! I always know what is coming at the end of the song and it still surprises me with the heat lol. I never remember the marshmallows either.

At some point Ramstein discovered that you can make up with instant coffee. According to concentration, black to red spots appear, which looks like dirt or blood Flake was hyper nervous all the time during a tour. What did he forget ? That he was made up with lots of coffee in the evening during the concert 😂

I nearly melted watching this song live... seeing them again in June and I can't wait

Watch the same song during the 2019 concert tour, the special effects are even better

This song was originally made as fight song for the Klitschko brothers. That is the reason why they count in this song (also the reason for his bloody face). At the end it wasn't used by the Klitschkos because they felt it was to hard for them.

i was at that concert! their gig at the sister festival (the much more famous "rock am ring")was canceled due to a terror warning. poor fellas where hours away from their performance. luckily it was a false alarm! but man, i tell you, their life shows are absolutely mesmerizing, i felt so bad for the other festival.

The start is clearly industrial, like listening to a machine. Watch the MV you'll see how that fits really well with the MV too. That's an maybe even grittier live version than most live versions or the album I've heard. I remember seeing Babymetal at Wembley Arena, 2016. I still remember the heat for from that pyro. :-) So yes, when you go to a Rammstein show, you'll remeber the pyro too.

Oh, you reacted on that one on the birth date of my son. So the lyrics 'Hier kommt die Sonne' ('here comes the sun') fit perfectly ;-)

I finally get to see Rammstein live this year! I'm soooo excited! :D

The "Cuts" are actually instant decaf coffee smeared on. It looks like dried blood/grit to give them texture to look more interesting on stage. It also helps against the fire, and is way easier to wash off than makeup. The rolling R's is just because Till (Lead Singer) is singing at a low pitch, and it makes him roll his R's. And for this tour, Sonne was their first song. ALSO, Rammstein is currently touring. Go look up as most of their shows are sold out already!

that guitar riff is not only good, it is also so easy to play :) tried out and now can say "can play Sonne"

As for the cut on his head - not sure if they played it at that show, but they have a song named "Sehnsucht" (which is fucking good btw :D) at the end of which Till hits himself on the forehead with his microphone a couple of times during live shows. Sometimes it results in these small cuts.

It's good to know that the singer is actually a pyrotechnician and knows what he is doing there.

They're on the crazier side, but the (assumed) topic behind it isn't exactly lending itself to a ballad (abandonmend/bad childhood). The instrumental bride is probably the highlight of it. Same goes for "Reise Reise". Slower, with an amazing bridge.

regarding to the cuts: real or not till lindemann is well known to be a masochist. he actually pierced his cheeck for a music video because he did not liked how wires would be around the outside of his mouth (appearancewise) cause he wanted an led light stored in his mouth (musicvideo for "ich tu dir weh")

You just can`t imagine how hot it has to be on stage. Absolutely insane...

You should check out the live version of this song when they played in Brussels 2019, perhaps in your free time if you don't wanna do another reaction vid about it. It's a great video to show their huge new stage, and also how they go balls to the walls with their pyro effects at the last riff part. They have much more flames on their new stage during this song compared to their earlier years.

One of them is real though - the area roughly in the middle of his forehead is an open, recurring cut from when he headbutts Paul Landers' mic during their performance of Feuer Frei.

One of my favorite song from Rammstein. Check the official video taht is great, like all their videos. I repeat but you HAVE to see them live.
